I was taken as many of us were to Loftus Road as a small child by my father and marvelled at seeing the green grass.
I'm not sure why but it seemed to have had a major impact on my memory banks.
When my Dad worked on Saturday I walked from Cowper Road in Acton to LR. I count myself incredibly lucky as I saw both Rodney and Stanley play. As I got older I moved to 'The Loft' before my final resting season ticket place in the SAR Stand.
I shall miss it. The fact that I can park my car 2 minutes from Loftus Road even in the PL days and not once in 30 years of parking has it ever been vandalised or broken into. I shall miss Dave Thomas's cry of 'Kick up the R's brand new edition' both before and after the game.
I won't miss the seats that were uncomfortable in the extreme, I won't miss the tannoy that I couldn't hear and I won't miss the bloke in front who thought that we were totally and utterly crap in every game irrespective of the scoreline.
I won't miss the poor football but I will miss the anticipation, 2 minutes before kick off where possibly Queens Park Rangers are the finest football team the world has ever seen.
Alas 2 minutes after kick off we knew we were exaggerating a little.
Of course I'll miss the good times, but I'm no 'Johnnie come lately glory hunter thank you'.
I'm afraid I've had enough of poor performances, games switched from Saturday to every other day of the week (thank you Sky) poor management on and off the pitch and well, I just think there may be better things to do with my £600.
Its not been an easy decision, I have blue and white blood, but some of it has been sucked out of me by the relentless mercenaries and poor decisions that the Club has made. This is not as the result of one season, its the result of many seasons of mismanagement of lies and PR spins.
I've just had enough.
Will I still come to LR?
Too right I will but it will be on my terms.
Lump your money on promotion now!

Nice piece MarshB. Sad though but you have your own reasons. You Have been a fantastic supporter for many years and sounds like you will continue to do so which is great. I was never lucky enough to see Rodney play, only Stan. You always get those clowns who think we are sh1t every home game, thats not me by the way

It's certainly not the football that made me pay up for another year & I definitely understand why anyone would change fron a ST to a pay as you go model. The most enjobable part of matchday is meeting up with friends & having a little drink together. The game is more manageable then!

Sorry to hear that MB, but fully understand. The couple of pints I have with Terry before the match does make it more bearable!

Now tbat we onky have one exorbitant earner, season tickets should be coming right down. 300 quid should be the most expensive seat in the house for an ST next season. I base this on performance, quality of the squad, ambitions of the club. Just look at what Bayern Munich charge. Admittedly, they have a lot more fans but....

Considering that the income raised from season ticket sales doesn't cover the cost of opening the stadium throughout the season, that doesn't seem to likely.

-Yes, and they were lucky too to have you and many others who gave them and the team great support in a golden age for QPR. We need the return of that era!

Thanks guys for all of your positive posts.
Will still be on the message board and will continue with the prediction league.
When I do not renew I just wonder if QPR will drop me a line and thank me for my support and how sad they are to see me go.
I bet they don't though!

Since I've moved to Devon I don't get to go to all the games. Each season the faces that you saw for years have disappeared. It's not just the quality of football on show at Rangers that's the problem, overall the game is at a low ebb. I still love coming up for half a dozen games a season, but must admit, the pre-match pints generally beat the lack of quality produced on the pitch

I can understand your frustration with poor performances and kick-off times, however I am very sure that mismanagement and bad decisions by the board are now a thing of the past.
Sure, they may get one or two things wrong in the next few years but they are spending far more sensibly and realise that until we get a better training ground and then a bigger stadium that can generate far more income than LR, we are not in a strong position to challenge at the top end of the Championship, let alone stand on our feet in the PL.
As for lies, just today LF stated that we may need to sell to generate funds for players. That doesn't sound like a lie to me but an honest appraisal of our situation. For example, I expect to see Smithies sold for this reason but fortunately this may not be a disaster, as good as he has been, as we have a very competent replacement already on our books and Lumley has had good reports from his spell at Bristol Rovers.
I hope you continue to come as often as you can as your great support will be missed.
