I think either central commanding defender/midfielder as Hall can fill in either department but curious of others view but centre half feels more important (easy to say 20 goal a season striker) but goals contributed from midfield helps massively ..
Where do you think we need to strengthen?

Sorry for posting this twice but it is just as applicable here.... Well if I was to judge players on their performance today alone....which is probably not fair on named players but these really stood out for me as being a complete waste of space.... Bidwell Lynch Ned Sylla (even it was only a short appearance, one has to ask if he is there soley for clown appearances?) Mackie Ngbakoto (Same as Sylla) Luongo (As much as it hurts me to say) Perch (Even though he didn't play, he is crap anyway) Read more: qprreport.proboards.com/thread/43809/bristol-city-thread#ixzz4eGGrhXma

Mac you are always having a pop at the owners. I would be really interested in what and how you would run the club, offer solutions if you are going to continually bag them. Right now, they are putting up the serious money for running the club on a day to day basis. You ask questions when are you also be offering answers. But in all the years I have known you, I am still waiting to see you come up with some sort of draft plan that would resolve the various issues you question. Your come back lines have always being along the lines of it is your right to ask the questions...and that is correct... but it would be nice to read your fix it plan. As in how to actually run the club rather than just replacing the chairman, the secretary, the CEO, the DOF. I am really interested in how you would run this club if you were the owner.

Well just for starters, I'd have banked the money after going up (and from parachutes) - even if meant going down; rather than signing a bunch of overpaid players.
And after I'd learned my lessons as Mr. Fernandes said he had one after first season and second...and third..I wouldnt then go and keep signing such players.
The # thing is survival - and I'd take that over Prem
And I wouldnt run away every time we go off losing...
You don't use twitter, I think Lone...But if you did, you'd see how much he's posting when we're winning. And then goes so much quieter as the results turn...
More another time...
But Of course I absolutely acknowledge that Owners of QPR - any owners of QPR - are like Red meat to me!
Paladini, Briatore/Bernie, Fernandes to name just the most recente

I think most owners go in to MAKE money - either directly or through how it impacts their other businesses...or by buying, holding and then selling on for even bigger profits. Clearly the money IS there for owners of big clubs.. As for why the interest in owners: Because they are the ones who by their decisions and actions have such a massive impact upon the fate of the club....Just look at Orient...and some others. Some of course are not great people to put it mildly; but many others, just don't know what they're doing. And keep inventing the wheel - rather than learn from the mistakes of other owners. Speaking of which, I just bumped .... "On This Day" in 2004: First mention I saw of Gianni and QPR qprreport.proboards.com/thread/2973/years-today-first-mention-paladini

Hard to answer without knowing which, if any, will be our preferred formation next season. This time last season I wanted us to sign an experienced centre back who was comfortable on the ball, that would still be my number one priority.

Also of course depends who's on his way out - If anyone wants to buy our players: Obviously maybe Smithies...Any others?

can really only see us buying 2 or 3 in the summer as we did a lot of business in January. Definitely need a CB and LW, plus one more striker. If we can ship out Caulker and possibly get £5m for Smithies (with Ingram as adequate number 1), then we should get in more than we spend. Another season of cutting costs is needed I reckon with parachute payments down and last season I think? My squad for next year would be:
GK Ingram Lumley
DF Furlong Bidwell Robinson Onouha Hall (although there will be interest I reckon) Lynch Perch +1 CB
MD Pawel Manning Freeman Luongo Goss Cousins (could be a big player for us when fit, under Ollie) Shodipo +1 LW
STR Smith Washington Mackie +1

Some astute comments above.
Assuming we survive in our current league, our owners need a history lesson. In the last 50 years the success of the club has IMHO arisen when we have had a superstar/striker in the team. Some of us can remember the glory days of Rodney Marsh. More recently Charlie Austin in the side gave us a lot to cheer. In between years can pencil in -over different decades- super stars who have achieved good things for the club.
Even if we have just half a dozen above average players in the team plus a good defense, if we can find a striker who can bang in 20-30 goals per campaign then we will be challenging at or near the top. Not languishing in the basement still worrying about relegation. The club needs to scout the world now to find the right one and do it right now!

We quickly run out of ideas on how to set up, and secure scoring opportunities. That is a coaching, training, and managerial strategy problem.

We're most probably safe and olly is playing fringe players, what's wrong with that?
I knew Brighton were in the premier league prior to yesterday when confirmed! .. Do we really think we're in real danger of relegation?

Do we really think we're in real danger of relegation? If we lost at Brentford and Blackburn get a result at Wolves, most definitely. However if Reading beat Forest Saturday, we only need a Forest draw to stay in the Division. The only game I see us picking up points from is Forest. Personally if I were Manager I wouldnt play fringe players until we were mathematically safe. Specially as we had already been on one run of 6 straight defeats.

Largely agree with Gladstone and Roller about a commanding CB. With Hall being converted to being able to play in front of the defence as a shield out of possession and as a link in possession, I feel like we probably need a strong, nasty presence back there. I don't dislike Lynch but he gets rolled so often. Think we need someone who's going to be the core of the defensive unit who can lead a line as, whilst we aren't certain what Holloway's preferred formation is for next season, it'll almost certainly rely on shifting shape depending on possession and we've been caught out far too often getting offside traps wrong.

What do we need to strengthen. Ollie's resolve I'd say. 5 or 6 changes every game is a recipe for disaster IMO. Just stick to your best 11, 12 or 13 Ollie. 1 or 2 changes per game only please!

What this club (not players mind, but club) needs is an attitude transplant. When you've lost as much as we have in recent years wins matter, no matter where they come from and when. Every game matters in building a winning attitude and an expectation of success.
It seems to me that clubs get stuck in this vicious cycle where they are in a constant state of change and results never matter.
You sack your coach every year at the same time, then claim the results of the 5 or 10 games that follow don't matter because the new guy is getting his feet under him.
Then comes a transfer window and the results of the 5 or 10 games after THAT don't matter because the players have to get "bedded in", one of my least favorite terms in football.
Then once you're "safe" in mid-table the rest of the results don't matter because the manager has to experiment and find his best team.
And of course any cup game doesn't matter because we need to focus on the league.
By the end of the season you've played 50 games, lost 30% more than you've won and you're ready to start the cycle all over again.
It makes me want to pull me hair out.

All three teams were carving him a new one down that left side.

I'd agree that it now looks like a very strange decision to recall him, but who'd have expected the impact that Manning made and how good Freeman has been. Doughty will surely be on his way at the end of the season.

I agree, Doughty will probably be sold to Swindon this summer, gets very little QPR game time, shame.
Gladwin (Permanent to summer 2018)probably sold back to them at the same time for a 1/4 the price we paid, poor buy as was El Khayati(Permanent summer 2018) and JET( Permanent to summer 2018) Would like all three to move permamently and take Mr Caulker ( Permanent to summer 2018) with them.
Also we have the Polish midfielder Borysuik (Permanent to summer 2019)back to us when his loans expires, wonder if he will ever play for us again

Of those, I will regret the loss of Borysiuk most. He looks like a very good footballer to me, but if our central midfield comprises Luongo, Freeman and Manning next season, we are probably better off.

From westlondonsport. Looking to strengthen at left back? www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/liverpool-full-back-eyed-qprQPR look at Liverpool youngster OwensBy West London Sport 21/04/2017 QPR are giving a trial to Liverpool youngster Kris Owens. The 18-year-old left-back, who can also play in midfield, featured for Rangers’ development side in a match against Watford on Friday afternoon. So too did MK Dons youngster Peter Kioso – another full-back on trial – and Tottenham midfielder Charlie Owens, who has been training with the R’s in recent weeks. QPR won 3-0 at Vicarage Road with goals from Aramide Oteh, Josh Bowler and Ebere Eze.
