I hope we can keep the momentum going tonight, the last four games has seen us win 3 and the draw came away to Leeds United. I wrote a preview, if you're interested it can be found at: allthingsrs.wordpress.com/2017/03/31/match-preview-derby-county-v-qpr/In my post I included the starting 11 I would go for, have a look and see if you would play a different team. After 2 weeks without Rangers life has had that element of emptiness, so buzzing for tonight's game. Come on you R'ssssss!

Not surprised by the loss. Rowett turning Derby around immediately, like he did when he took over Birmingham in the bottom three.
Derby have a good Manager here now, then again they had another quality one a year or so ago Clement and fired him, hope they have learnt now.
Wouldnt be surprised to see them in play offs next season.
Fair result, Derby were the better team. Hopefully we can do better at Villa Tuesday.

Game report from the BBC www.bbc.com/sport/football/39376251Derby beat QPR in Rowett's first home gameBy Phil Cartwright BBC Sport 3 hours ago From the section Football Gary Rowett's first home game as Derby manager ended in victory as the Rams' slim Championship play-off hopes were boosted by beating QPR at Pride Park. Derby are six points off sixth position with seven games to play. Matej Vydra scored the only goal with 20 minutes remaining, firing high into the net after QPR goalkeeper Alex Smithies kept out Tom Ince's low shot. Idrissa Sylla headed against the post late on for QPR, who suffered only their second defeat in eight games. Ian Holloway's in-form Rangers had offered little in attack before that, and they remain 10 points clear of the relegation zone, having taken 16 points from their previous seven Championship matches. Derby had drawn their first game under Rowett at local rivals Nottingham Forest prior to the international break, coming from behind to lead and then conceding a stoppage-time equaliser. But they built on an impressive second-half display at the City Ground to give new boss Rowett, a former Derby defender, his first win in charge. Winger Johnny Russell missed several opportunities for the hosts during a goalless first half, while Smithies kept out David Nugent's powerful angled drive. It appeared as if Derby would be punished for their wastefulness, but Czech striker Vydra netted for the second game in succession to secure three points and deny Rangers what would have been only their third league clean sheet of 2017.

Good Derby side who nullified our threat.. Not surprised but showed where we are at the moment. Good side but but not higher echelons. We are as we were prior to this game, building a team but not unhappy as will strengthen in summer window!

....and from the Offie HOLLOWAY: THAT WASN'T USPUBLISHED 23:00 31st March 2017 by @qprfc Gaffer on Derby defeat ... IAN Holloway shared his disappointment after seeing his side's recent unbeaten spell brought to an end. But the QPR boss refused to be too downbeat on the back of a 1-0 Sky Bet Championship defeat to Derby County – Rangers’ first in five league fixtures. Matej Vydra's 70th-minute strike did it for the dominant Rams at Pride Park. And speaking to www.qpr.co.uk after the full-time whistle, Ollie told us: "I'm bitterly disappointed. That didn't look anything like us of late. "I thought we started okay but then, for some reason, we started to hit it up towards Matt Smith far too often. “When [Bradley] Johnson is detailed to stand in front of Matt, the last thing I’d be doing is choosing to hit it towards him all the time. "Things just waned away. I thought one or two of the lads looked like they hadn’t played for a while – that’s the truth, unfortunately. “I was more disappointed with the second half – we didn’t really give a good account of ourselves.” Holloway added: “But I have to give Derby credit – we lost to the better team on the night. “And I can’t argue with how far we’ve come. We've had a great run. “Unfortunately, we didn’t do enough tonight. And the substitutes, they didn’t alter the game as much as they have done. “Maybe there were too many changes. I think we missed Mass Luongo – but we couldn’t do anything about that (Luongo only returned from international duty with Australia later this week). “At this level, it’s about fine, fine, fine margins. “We all feel disappointed because you want to look like you’re progressing – you want to give a better account of yourselves. Like I said, we didn’t play anything like we have done.” Rangers are on the road once more on Tuesday night, with a trip to Aston Villa. Holloway concluded: “We’ll try other people against Aston Villa – that’s why we’ve been doing well, because we’ve been giving people chances. “We’ll go back and start again. We’ll go back to the basics I want.” Read more at www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/qpr-ian-holloway-derby-county-3651758.aspx#ZCmkQXWeI9WScoqS.99

I partly agree with Ollies assessment but I think he has to put his hand up on this one a bit more. I think the starting line-up was a bit out of balance and the tactics were wrong. Going on Sky live 45 minutes before kick off and describing the nights tactics may not be a good idea either. By half time it was clear how the game was going and it needed a couple of subs and a change in style straight away. Neither happened until it was too late. At the end of the day it was a poor performance and the better team on the night won. Villa next and a few team changes to come. Just hope this is Ollie trying things out for next season and not that he is becoming the next "tinker man". Yeah, that's pretty much my view PS Glad to see we are getting our money's worth out of Ravel Morrison - not even on the bench again. Maybe he will come on as a sub in our last home game of the season score a goal and get a 5 year contract Ravel played in the Young v Old game that went to penalties at Harlington the other day. IIRC, he missed the penalty that cost the young'uns the game, maybe that's why he wasn't in the squad.

Despite Derby controlling the game, we didn't really give them that many solid chances. And let's be honest, Smithies pulled a rare page out of Green's "Goalkeeping For Dummies" book, with his mishandle of that save that was laid at the feet of the attacking player. We don't see that often from him, and he gets a pass from me because he has save our skins way more time than costing us.
On to the next game!

Agree with fabs. We were awful. No ideas, no set plays, in a daze or haze. Yes, Smithies played bounce ball back to the scorer. What on earth is that, at this level? Wasted a whole evening watching this rubbish. Ollie says, "That wasn't us". Oh yes it was. Without pride, at Pride Park. Someone did hit the woodwork in waning moments.
