Last week I was on a swanky Seabourn cruise in the South China Sea.
The entertainment that evening was a British comedian and on a ship where the majority of passengers were US/Aussies I was looking forward to some great British humour. The comic started his act by asking where people came from.......Sydney, LA, New York were the responses.
"I come from a suberb of London call Shepherds Bush" was his response "Anyone from the UK?" So a few of us put our hands up.....he pointed to me 'Where are you from sir?"...my response was "Shepherds Bush"
"QPR fan?" he asked.........and was delighted when I replied with a "U'R's".
In the bar after the show we hooked up and found out that 8,000 miles from Loftus Road........he was a season ticket holder like me and sat 11 rows in front of me in the same block although neither of us recognised each other.
Like me, his Dad had taken him in the 1960's.
Given the terrible events in London this week, I thought this was a neat story for the message board.
Jeff Stephenson is is a name- a truly funny man,.
