Rotherham, Wigan, Blackburn and Bristol City all lost meaning we are still 10 points from the relegation zone so no harm done points wise this weekend with regards to possible relegation.

I'd like to see us use the remaining matches to try to evaluate the progress, or lack of it, of some of our younger players. I'm not advocating wholesale changes, just to utilise this opportunity as best we can.

Agree. Starting with giving Matt Ingram some games. And Max Daughty - For G-d's sake, he's 24 1/2..

I would try and put out the best possible team against Villa/Brighton and hope that after these 2 games we are mathematically safe. Whilst I agree that it will take an almighty turn of events from the teams below us, Burton won at Huddersfield yesterday........and we are talking about QPR here so assume that anything is possible!
Once it is mathematically impossible to do down, I'd hope the manager doesn't pick those players that won't be around next season or are not part of Ollie's plans and promotes some of the younger players to give them a taste of the first team.
I'm sure we're safe............aren't we?!

Michael Doughty will surely be departing in the summer, probably back to Swindon. He must be so far down the pecking order there is no point him staying.

I think if Doughty stood any chance of winning a new contract we would have seen him play a game or two or at least have been on the bench by now. It's clear (unless he is injured) that Ollie has seen enough of him close up in training to have decided that Doughty will not be part of next seasons plans. As Mac says he is over 24 years old plus he has been at the club under a succession of managers and trainers, none of whom have thought enough of him to give him a run in the team. Not sure why people get hung up about him - maybe because at one stage he appeared to be the best of a poor group of young players. It's time for the club and Doughty to make a clean break, end his time with QPR and get himself back to playing regular football at a lower level. I always thought Petrasso was the best of that young group of players. Has been fairly quiet on further development. I think Doughty will be sold to Swindon

Will we get the 60 points we got last year. I will say no.
Have we gone backwards season 16-17??? Stayed about the same ? Or certain things have improved even though ultimately points have not ?

I find it difficult to compare seasons where the manager who started it in charge hasn't been in charge at the end of it so we'll probably not progress util that changes. The last couple of games were always going to be tough. Two teams whose defences have improved immensely were always going to be very difficult to score against. I thought we were awful against Derby but, that said, they never really looked like scoring except for that one error. From what I can tell, we were much better last night, especially in the 2nd half where we dominated but Villa defended their lead exceptionally well. Brighton is going to be very tough again.
