I could have entered this on "the today thread", but I felt that it deserved a place of it's own.
I have just read on not606 that today is the 25th aniversary of the death of Mick Leach & I can recommend a thread on that site by Danish praising Mick.
Mick was the first player I know of that managed to make the transformation from Boo Boy to a club hero. IMO, he had elevated himself to a legend while he was still very young, as it was his goals that got us over the finishing line in 1968. Without his goals at Ipswich & Villa we would not have been promoted & who knows, perhaps the Jago/Sexton years would not have followed!
Thank you Mick for all the emories. A proper Rangers man!
A good footballer & by all accounts, a very good man.

When I first started following the team I found him to be a real squad player - he & John Hollins filling in everywhere. I am glad I was lucky enough via TV then, to see a player giving his all for the club. And we had a lot of QPR games on TV that season here. Almost as many as Manure.
