This will be short, but not sweet!
That was the worst Ipswich side I have ever seen!
Three really s****y goals, but we didn't deserve any better, even though we were by far the better team in the first half.
That says a lot more about Ipswich than it does about us!
Pride, passion? It was in short supply & only Washington could leave the pitch thinking that he had put in a shift.
Signing off now.
Thank you Queens Park Rangers!

Did we play 3 at the back Terry? It looked that way from the selection.
If so, what sort of job did Bidwell make as a left wingback? I can't see that being a natural position for him.
With Henry in the team in the centre of midfield and no wingers, I'd guess that we'd need to see a lot out of Cousins, any sign of him delivering?

But Terry, why did Smithies head a ball behind him, trying to clear? Couldn't he have caught it?

Ollie out!! Saves all the negative fans from saying it. Actually, this could be a good loss so to speak. Ollie now sees what happens when we go behind and how the players react.

Just highlights the fact that we dont have any leaders on the pitch and our defence is very poor indeed. In fact our defence has been rubbish since our last Championship winning season under Redknapp.
Ramsey never sorted it and neither did JFH in a year.
Move on to home to Wolves, big game. Wolves form is dreadful, ours not much better.

From what I've read 3 - 0 was not an accurate representation of the game; 2 unfortunate goals and a goalkeeping error are my understanding of the scale of the defeat. Now, I'm not saying our defence is good, but let's not write them off quite yet.
I like Lynch a lot, he is the new Clint Hill.

The Chief is not a chief, not even a warrior. I'm no fan of Ned, but he is a confidence player. He needs a run of matches in one position to get up to speed and not to be shunted around between central defence and full back. If he gets that he will start to play a lot better. I do think that the captaincy is a burden to him though, he has enough on his hands concentrating on his own game.

I thought we were playing 4-3-2-1 we seem to lose a lot more with that formation.

With Henry in the team in the centre of midfield and no wingers, I'd guess that we'd need to see a lot out of Cousins, any sign of him delivering? Right, now signed back in for a few minutes. Yes, it was three at the back. Bidwell looked as comfortable as Perch in a wing back role! If we are to play this system, there is no role for either player. Robinson & Nico (not attempting to spell his name) look fine for the left side, but who could play on the right? There weas not one piece of creativity in the game from either side. Varney put himself up against Ned & Hall at every opportunity & constantly won the ball in the air. The decisions from the referee were very strange, incvluding the free kick he gave to ipswich that led to the first goal. However, the most amazing decision was not to give Perch a second caution just before half time! That should have been a s much a stonewaller as Olsen was the previous game. Cousins? He gave us less than Henry did! Sandro went down so heavily under one challenge (that wasn't even a foul). Hall looked far better in midfield last week than any of our central three were today. Yes, all three goals were "unlucky", but after being the better side in the first half, we were abysmal in the second half & fully deserving of the defeat. I understand that Luongo was ill & our Polish midfielder has family problems (at least that is was you told me by text!) but where was Shodipo? Where was the Polish winger? I repeat. We just lost 3-0 to the worst Ipswich team in my lifetime! Living in that town, I am not a happy man with that performance!

But Terry, why did Smithies head a ball behind him, trying to clear? Couldn't he have caught it? No, he couldn't catch the ball as it was outside the area & he was in his sweeping role. He could easily have headed the ball away into a congested area, but chose to head it left instead to Lynch so we had pocession. However, it went "slightly" wrong! In the end Smithies made at least three very good saves to keep the score to three. That does not excuse his mistake though!

I thought we were playing 4-3-2-1 we seem to lose a lot more with that formation. We didn't have four at the back at any time during the game. I believe that it's meant to be a fluid formation. 5 at the back when the other side have the ball & 5 in midfield when we are in pocession.

We just lost 3-0 to the worst Ipswich team in my lifetime! Living in that town, I am not a happy man with that performance! Thanks Terry. I suspected that Bidwell may struggle in that role, hopefully Robinson is not out for long. If he is perhaps we should look at reverting to 4 at the back as I can't see Ollie taking a chance and playing Hämäläinen and Kakay who would be perfect for those roles. If Varney was giving us problems, we should have been flexible enough to re-organise and put Lynch on him or could that inhibit Hall's options in pushing forwards? Maybe in time. I've been told that Cousins played well up at Forest. I've seen little more than flashes of it myself and unfortunately most of those were for Charlton against us! Hopefully Luongo and Borysiuk will be available on Thursday evening. Actually, think that Cousins has played at right back in the past, perhaps he could take over from Perch?
