Diakite on the bench. I wonder if he'll get a bit of a go in the 2nd half?

Truly shocking game of football by two poor teams!
We have some very average/poor players in our squad and as a club with these players we will be in real trouble next season!!

I think that is a slightly over the top assessment of an end of season friendly.
My biggest bugbear would be the lack of time given to Washington. The lad can play but he needs more than 10 minutes every-so-often.

I think that is a slightly over the top assessment of an end of season friendly. My biggest bugbear would be the lack of time given to Washington. The lad can play but he needs more than 10 minutes every-so-often. Roller my assessment was not only from todays game but to be honest since JFH took over! I'm not saying it is only JFH fault it's not. The quality of a lot of the players is just not there! Agree it would be nice to see a bit more of Washington so we can see if he's any good and also Petrasso as I believe he could be a decent winger. But for me the likes of Luongo Gladwin Kpekwah El Khayati and Polter will not make us competitive in the Championship. Personally I'd like to see us invest in some Championship quality defenders because still to this day our best defender is 37 year old Clint Hill. I like Grant Hall but he hasn't been the same player since returning from injury but that could also be the effects of a long season for a young man. For him to improve he needs someone along side him who is going to help him develop. That is not Onuoha who is all over the place at the back and needs all his concentration to help him with his own game. How the guy is captain is beyond me! So now on to the bit where I expect to get the most abuse over! Ali Faulin! Love his work rate but for me his passing has been way below par this season and caused us to turn the ball over far to easy. If Henry had passed the ball as badly as Faullin he would have been slaughtered and booed off. But would be pleased to see him get another year. Think only Toszer's passing has been worse! Will be a lot leaving in the summer some players seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth!

Reading have to take the award for the absolute worst kit to grace Loftus Road this season. Thought Ingram was fabulous - very strong presence in the box, and clearly not afraid of (deliberately) intimidating opposition forwards. Likewise Hall was getting at the Reading forwards whenever he could - I think we've needed a little bit of 'nastiness' in our game. Good also to see that, when he got a bit of 'afters' in retaliation, he just shook the guy's hand - he can give it out, but take it too. Got to love Polter's commitment - completely took out a Reading player at full speed/strength. Quite how a free kick wasn't given I don't know - expect perhaps that both players were off the pitch by the time the impact happened. Some great defensive work too, out-jumping Readings 12 ft central defender at a corner. That siad, he really need s to work on his first touch and ball-control over the summer. Not the greatest of games, but with nothing to play for by either side, well, hardly expected. I disagree that Luongo, Gladwin, Kpekwah, El Khayati, Polter and Faurlin won't make us competitive. True, none of them is the finished article and/or at their best, but all have shown enough to make it worth sticking with them. Let's hope a decent pre-season gets them clicking together. A few pics taken on my St George's Day travels up from darkest Sussex, including a glimpse of the Reading team limo spotted near Regent Street...

Will be a lot leaving in the summer some players seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth! There is a lot to agree with, as well as a lot to disagree with. Defensively I couldn't agree more. Clint Hill on one leg is our best defender, but I maintain hope in Robinson, Hall and Kpewaka. This summer's most important signing will be a strong, experienced central defender to lead the team. Poor old Ned needs to go and find a new challenge, and one where his confidence is shattered on a regular basis by pushing him out to cover at full back. I believe that we can be competitive with Polter, El Khayati and Luongo, yet to be convinced by Gladwin but it is too early to write him off, he has not had much of a chance yet. We are poles apart on Faurlin. In my opinion he makes the team tick and we look so much better when he is playing, even on his poor days. I'd look for us to play a 4-2-3-1 next season. Back 4 of Robinson, Hall, New Leader and Furlong/Perch Defensive 2 of Faurlin/Luongo and New Destoyer/Doughty??? Attacking 3 of El Khayati, Chery and Washington Polter up top. Cover provided by Kpewaka, Hill, Gladwin, Petrasso. Clearly we need attacking cover, whether that is a new man or Polter with the new man ahead in the pecking order. I'd seriously consider offering Henry another season as he can offer cover both in midfield and right back (but not right wing!) I think that we'd be competitive, but it may require a change in mindset from the manager who is too safety first for my liking.

As we say its all about opinions but I enjoyed reading your post and agree Faulin makes us tick its just his passing that has disappointed me!
