On a positive note we appear to have something in Smithies. How many penalties has he saved this year? And he just made a great stop on a breakaway after yet another defensive howler, this time from Angela.

Agree with Nomar , bad defending cost us. And before you say it yes a top team but just lost games to Bristol City, Charlton and Rotherham so hardly unbeatable.
Defending needs to be better and terrible from Hall.
Could say the Poulter goal should have counted, looked to be on the line when we crossed it.

I'm going to give Hall the benefit of the doubt since he's just coming back from injury and had been great all year.
To me with Smithies in goal, Hall in the center of defense, luongo in midfield and guys like Chery, Washington and Polter up front you have the start of a decent spine there.
We still lack a real leader too. Missed Hill tonight and Ned just doesn't have the fire and concentration to lead that defense, too many lapses. Personally I would start to transition Hill into a coaching role by telling him to go out a find someone just like him but 10 or 15 years younger. It really is amazing what a difference he makes, even at 37.

Score two great goals and have a perfectly good goal disallowed one would think we were unlucky. But truth is we were simply awful defensively and not much better going forward. JFH lost it with someone at the final whistle and could be in trouble. Is the sky money worth the sky jinx?

There is no way that we'd have conceded all three of those goals with Hill on the field, even at 37. This summer we definitely need to sign a leader at the back to play alongside Hall, and a new right back as well.
