From the Offie another (far better) keeper back at Loftus Rd for Saturday's match PHIL PARKES BACK AT LOFTUS ROAD ON SATURDAY
PUBLISHED 13:00 22nd November 2015 by @qprfc Legendary goalkeeper to return to W12 next weekend Parkes to collect commemorative medal on Saturday Goalkeeper will attend Leeds fixture as guest of the club Legendary keeper made 344 appearances for R's EX-QPR goalkeeper Phil Parkes will return to Loftus Road as a guest of the club next weekend. The 65 year-old was unable to attend the club’s recent 1975/76 reunion owing to work commitments, but will be present when the R's take on Leeds United in W12 on Saturday. Parkes will be presented with the commemorative medals the club handed out to the stars of arguably our greatest-ever side, prior to being interviewed on the pitch at half-time. After joining the Hoops in 1970, Parkes made 344 appearances for the R's, and is widely-regarded as the greatest QPR goalkeeper of all time. Parkes is the latest in a long line of former players to return to Loftus Road over the past few seasons. Ex-QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny will also be in attendance this weekend. Shrewd move by the club. Probably had a feeling the fans might not all be 100% behind the idea of Kenny coming back. So with parkes along side him it will be cheers and applause all round.

A true QPR legend and a true Berk Although Kenny does hold the record for most clean sheets in a season I think 25 under Warnock . Those pies helped him keep a few out .

A true QPR legend and a true Berk Parkes or Kenny? Parkes will always be a true Ledge to me. Paddy was ok, did a good job that year but think he let himself down badly slagging off the club like he did, not nice.

The Kossack hair spray averts were classic 70s He played the same number of games for us and West Ham We should never have sold him - the team never had that stability behind them again I look forward to thanking him for the service he gave the Rangers

That's great news - three legends in one day - gradually we are getting a chance to thank all of the players from the 75-76 season I will always remember Ian Gillards last game And in Gerry we actually had the captain of England playing for us...

It was really good listening to the half time interview with Phil & Gerry.
The best & most important news was that Phil Parkes is currently clear of Cancer.
He then went on to pay a fulsome tribute to the most under valued member of the 75-76 squad. As Mick Leach can't be present to receive our praise, it was wonderful to hear Phil giving him his due value.
Thank you.
