He is not my favourite person by a long stretch but he does have a point....If the cream of the team do go this summer ( And IMO Austin, Phillips, Fer, Sandro will do one if they have their way) the club will bank the money and take its chances....then our ability to attract top talent will be compromised because young untested talent is what Ramsey and Les have been mandated to develop as a club strategy.
I agree with Nomars point that its up in the air until the season starts....but as someone who's always been a glass half full kinda person its worrying times...The young players coming in could be a revelation but its the Managers performance to date that worries me most!

as a matter of interest what players of quality would be attracted to join us. Rumours the three players of quality last season (Charlie, Leroy and Matty) all want to leave

One thing for sure is although Redknapp was a crap Premier Manager for us, he had player pulling power, far more than Ramsey. Redknapp got. AUSTIN PHILLIPS O'NEIL DUNNE HENRY SIMPSON before we started in the Championship. So far we have POLTER JET MACKIE LUONGO GLADWIN Not bad but we do need a bit more quality, just hope we can attract it.

(Disclamer: I'm American so take this post for what it's worth)
I fail to see why so many top flight clubs in Europe don't go after more young American talent, rather you will see the second-tier European leagues littered with them. It's like the tip-tier Euro clubs don't want to take the risk until they are "proven". So the money being the same, much of the youth is starting to opt for the MLS. Kinsman wants our guys to be in Europe. He has gone on record saying so. Furious when "proven" players like Bradley and Dempsey head back to the states.
So to my point: Jordan Morris is a huge prospect right now. Still playing in college, he already has international caps and goals. I can promise you Klinsman would be in his ear to make a move to W-12, should they make an offer, rather than the entire MLS who will be after him. You can see this with players like Bobby Wood, Julian Green, and Danny Williams,
He is a goal scoring machine and lightning fast. I take that quote as he has not been offered by a European club, or does not think he is good enough yet, therefore Seattle it is. He could just be waiting for Barcelona to call.........;-)

Most of QPR's recent problems have stemmed from thinking that simply just having quality players would bring success. I said last season that teams with good players and stable dressing rooms will always overcome teams with better talent and fractured clubhouses. I'd rather have lesser players who care enough to track back and defend, attack in numbers and are fit enough to concentrate for 90 minutes plus injury time than have quality players who think they're above doing any of those fundamental basics. Isla and Vargas !

I've seen some amazing athletic talent over here Morris being one of many players and some other military & college players that could compete easily at the present levels of the game abroad. But its hard to get the youths/parents minds out of the hs + College + uni path to career on top of that the talent pools that big it would take a big scouting network (tony F buy in America ) to pick & offer contracts to the best. Looking around at the MLS game the teams are starting to fill with younger african and south american players but I'd like to see some of the home grown talent talent from HS & college player get into the game quicker. One of the things that affects the league visibility is that it plays a different time of the year to euro leagues, if mls changed to same as Europeans then the game, investment would grown quicker and clubs would be able to recognize talents faster.

I agree with everything you said.
The MLS is looking at TV contracts just like every other US sport. The summer time provides the least amount of competition, so I don't see the season being moved into alignment with the other leagues.

I think Freddy Adu has probably put a lot of teams off investing in MLS ralent.

I think Freddy Adu has probably put a lot of teams off investing in MLS ralent. Is there a vomit emoji? Talk about unfulfilled U.S. Hopefulls.... Freddy the talent was not the problem. Him being 5' at 14 and 5' at 20 was the problem. His talent was there. His size never was. Sucks for him. I want to see the defense that can stop Morris. I'm waiting....

That the club are getting rid of the deadwood that were/are in it for the money, good on them. Don't under estimate some of the signings. This Aussie boy is good, very good. Don't judge him on Ned Zelic or Nick Ward. There is still a bit of dead wood to go too but the good news is is that the club are at long last not giving away prized assets like Austin and Phillips and Fer. They are making others to having to pay market rates and good on them for doing that. Now we need a couple of 26ish year olds to give a level of maturity and experience. I feel better about this season than last season. Well said Andy I agree.Time will tell.

when you see American sports items on tv here it's surprising the amount of football pitches you see. The US ladies have lifted the World Cup again. How long before the US men follow suit. With the amount of English coaches working in the States, won't be long before a lot more of their players play for English teams
