Quite a transformation so far since End Jan / February ?
When Charlie and Phillips go and any of Ale,Henry or Clint dont sign, will be pretty whole new set up in 6 months.
Not sure if thats good or bad ?
Traore I guess might be offloaded aswell? Think he was one of the eggs .
Might take several months before we start to play good football and go through that gelling stage once again?
It is possible we might only be left with about 4-5 people in the photo, amazing really.

Traore was apparently one of the bad eggs.
He's also a joke of a footballer whose been robbing a living for some time now. Will be happy to see him shown the door too.

One of the things I worry about is one of the "lessons learned".
There has been a lot of people posting saying how it is good to have got rid of almost half of our Prem squad.
One of the lessons we were supposed to have learned was that wholesale changes to our squad cause disruption and it takes time to get a new squad to "gel".
From above it looks like more than half of our 2015/16 squad will be new and some untested at this level. If we get off to a bad start like we did with a wholesale changed squad in the Prem, we'll be staring down the barrel of relegation quick fast.
I just have a worry about wholesale changes and that lessons haven't been learned in this area.

I just have a worry about wholesale changes and that lessons haven't been learned in this area. They were out of contract. Keeping them would have meant re-signing them. They were on big money. What did you want us to do, pay them Prem wages so that they could stay and we'd have 'continuity'? At some point it was clear we'd have to blow the whole thing up and start all over again. That's happening now. What we're doing now is replacing them with younger players who we can sign to long term deals on realistic wages. Thats what building a solid foundation is about, instead of papering over cracks by constantly getting in old players whose best days are behind them and who you have to recycle every couple of seasons. The big worry from fans on here and other sites seems to constantly be relegation, instead of actually looking at the fact that the club was a complete and utter cluster**** of a mess and now moves are being made to put things right and give this club back its soul and its identity. If that means dropping down a division then so be it. Would I like it? No, of course not. But I'd rather they did this right this time and if relegation to League 1 is the price we have to pay to come back stronger and wiser, then, rather that than we carry on the same mistakes which will eventually rip this club apart regardless of what division its in. Talk to most Southampton fans and they'll tell you that the club would never be in the position its in now had they not dropped down to League 1, which forced them to change the way the operated. Its happened to Wolves and Bristol City recently and both times those clubs have rebuilt the right way and come back with good teams that got promoted again. I hated going down last season, but people like Rory and I said at the time that we felt relegation this time around would be the best thing to happen to this club because this time it would force them to have to make changes they weren't brave enough or principled enough to make last time around. As for this gelling business, its hard to 'gel' when you put a team together that is based on players only here for the money and a manager who would rather he was on the golf course or still managing Spurs than on a Harlington training ground. That 'time to gel' crap was just an excuse to palm off p*ss poor performances and lax attitudes amongst players and management in my opinion.

This may seem like just another complete gutting of the squad but in this case it's needed so we can build the foundations for a solid squad, and should mean us not having to do this every summer

I hope you are right nomar and Rory. I just worry about what our owners will do if it looks like in December/January that we're going to be relegated.

But I expect him to be moved on by the board in the the next couple of years

I'm just hoping for a fresh young team come 1st September with a couple of experienced guys in there.
We need four strikers, not including Jamie Mackie.
So I'm hoping aswell as Charlies replacement we still get another in even on loan will do.
If we finish mid table so be it, least we cleared out some old dross.
Whether Ramsey is up to the task who knows,, some positive results will be the only thing that convinces me.
I also expect him to sure up our defence. Under Warnock and Harry our defence in the Championship was solid . If Ramsey's defence concedes easily we will have big problems.
As for Tony if he stays he stays if he goes he goes. I think he tries his best but sadly had some fundamental errors.
I dont think its an easy job at all but maybe if he does take a back seat at the end of the year it wont be a bad thing ?

Samba Diakite still has 12 months on his contract - wonder if we'll see him back in a hooped shirt?
He's got the talent and energy, if his attitude and temper is right...
