At least Ravel is somewhat more professional towards football than Adel is. Had no problems with him when he was on loan here.
Was found innocent in the criminal charges too

I had no problems when he played for us did well and was unlucky to miss out on the play off games.
Has a bit of a reputation.
After Taarabt and Barton going, I thought we might well stay clear .
Like Adel Rory, no question of his talent.

Give him a chance I say....and apply a bit of context before we judge too harshly....and I'm not trying to be high and mighty here honest.
Football is a game of the masses and professional football is predominately populated by players of working class backgrounds!
Many of the players in our leagues will have in the past demonstrated questionable behaviour and poor moral aptitude, a lot of which is a by product of the tough environments they had to grow up in.
A Lack of good role models, poor parenting and misdirected leadership when your young will create poor attitudes and it will take maturity and learnt life skills to conquer these...
So I think it naïve to believe we can and should only consider players with a squeaky clean past as fit for purpose....its a little high and mighty and pompous IMO!
Joey Barton is a good example of why people should get a second chance....I'm led to believe he was dragged up in a dysfunctional violent family environment....so guess how he started to play out as a young adult!!
I'm not excusing any of his past conduct but he has clearly tried his best to reform and become a good family man who appreciates what talent he has and does his best in applying what skills he has 100%...Our club recognised that and made him Captain.
Don't know too much about Ravel except what was in the news recently about his girlfriend....I detect from that some real insecurity issues there.....but saw enough when he was here to see real promise!
But ADEEEELLL I hear you cry, we have learnt our lesson so No!....Well the incumbent management team have quickly got shot of him and seen him for what he is.....too much of a risk!!
Perhaps the clubs perspective now is that in this new environment that TF/LF/CR are trying to build, QPR is a place where talented young players with the right potential can succeed through good guidance in order to reach their full potential...even if they have transgressed in the past!!
It looks likely that he is coming here so it will be interesting to see how the new management team develop him.....Time for them to walk the walk and talk the talk!!
If that's the case after spending gazillions on signing mature professionals and lining theirs and their agents pockets it might be a good thing.....also otherwise we may never have seen the likes of Gazza, Best, or Merson to name a few!

You are absolutely right Dufster, and clearly a generous and forgiving human being.
But, as a gut reaction to the possibility of resigning a talented player, who demonstrated an over-inflated opinion of himself in the past, who sulked, didn't always do the best for the team, then I'd say don't sign him.
That said, perhaps he's older and wiser and realises he's not God's Gift - and that the football world has seen countless young talent p*ss their promising careers up the wall of their own egos.
I'm sure CR and LF will know all about him, good and bad - so if they do sign him, well, I'd happily go with their judgement and welcome Ravel to the Rangers ranks.
But so far, I guess this is all uninformed paper talk and I'd be very surprised if he would contemplate a Championship club.

I think they may see him as a calculated risk worth taking....I'm guessing we would get him for far less than West Ham were paying!

I doubt any posters on here are against giving people who deserve it a second chance, Dufster.
It's more a case of why does it need to be us that ends up taking on these cases.
Sometimes in life you can actually just say no. It's not a crime to say 'I think I'll pass on this one this time'.

How will CR and LF know all about him ? Am I missing something, thought he was West Ham and Man U youth not Spurs ??
Will they know anymore about him than we do .

Quite - and if we really are interested, we'll have had him watched, and perhaps had preliminary discussions with him.

Yes agree that people talk to people at other Clubs , we probably spoke to Spurs before signing Adel and Barton the same . My point is they havnt managed him or been at the club whilst he played there ?
Its a huge risk again as he's only young and already been bombed out of Man U and West Ham .
And do we really want someone that could potentially strop all season after just getting rid of four bad eggs?
Dont get me wrong, he has huge talent and I like him but it is what QPR should be doing at this minute of time?
I'm not entirely sure.

Bond will have worked with Ravel so there's some knowledge/experience of his temperament...thought he did ok in main for us but without doubt there was a petulance about him.....becomes a benefit over risk argument so perhaps based on Bonds knowledge they are going to have a punt on him?

Good point, Bond would have seen him. As far as I was aware he didnt have any attitudes at QPR but then was left out Wigan games ? Was that just Harry's change or did something go off?
Anyhow I really dont mind if we sign him. I'm probably 60 % against and worried and 40 % for because of his talent.
I will leave that to Ramsey and Ferdinand but the decision will be seen by some QPR supporters as the the wrong move at this current junction .

I think it's worth a punt , thought he was really good last time . Thought we'd have signed a few more by now anyway not just 2 from Swindon . Thought Ravel had signed for Lazio anyway .

Even if it worked out with him on the field, you either believe in having "The Right Sort" and practice what you preach; or you don't.
I didnt want him last time. And I don't want him now.

There is definitely legs with this story. The Mirror article states that we've been in talks with both Lazio and Ravel for three weeks which adds up with the fact that Ravel was posting pictures of his time at QPR on his Instagram account only about two weeks ago...

Mirror Sport understands the 22-year old playmaker, who signed a pre-contract with the Italians in January, is homesick and desperate to return to England. QPR want him and talks have been ongoing between the Italian side and the relegated Hoops for three weeks. They hit a fresh stumbling block this week as a deal had not been reached by the time Lazio were officially ready to announce that Morrison had been registered as their player. All parties, however, are continuing to work to reach a solution. Clive RoseLoan ranger: Morrison had a brief spell with QPR in 2014 Morrison signed for the Rome club from West Ham in January after falling out with former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce. The former Manchester United man moved to Rome earlier this year but has been unhappy there for some time now. Contrary to suggestions he has caused his new club a problem, however, Lazio have been sympathetic to his plight and are helping him to try and find a way back to England. Rangers are interested as Morrison enjoyed a positive loan spell at Loftus Road between February and May last year. The club believe he has the ability to become an asset for them in the Championship.

If true, and it looks like it may, I wouldn't mind having Ravel back. I think he's learned his lessons.
If he's still got the talent he had when he was with us last time he would be an asset in the Championship.

IMO, the guy is a waste of space and has something in common with Adel. They have both been kicked out of two clubs, in one season.
Adel: QPR and Fulham. Morrison: West Ham and Cardiff.
Another waste of God given talent.

Struggling a bit with that thought process chaps...To associate him with Adel conjures up too much, sadly we know that Taarabt got more out of QPR than the club got out of him.....but Ravel is a different story....seems his issues are personal and nothing to do with megalomania just ego and self belief!
If CR is the coach they say he is perhaps this lad is a good example of how they demonstrate that...
