If you believe he was on a months contract then you're in the same camp that believed Harry left coz he had a dodgy knee
Come in Mark Devlin.

He won't have been on a 1 month notice contract but notice periods are negotiable. It's quite probable that Beard working out a 6 month notice wouldn't have been conduce to continuity and they'd want to get a replacement in sooner rather than later. It's likely that an arrangement was come to.

I know most on this board don't like him and blame him for a lot of our ills. And sure he needs to take his fair share of the blame. I'd just like to also wish him well and thank him for the positive things he did. He leaves us still in the Prem and he's played his part in achieving that.
All the best for the future Phil.
Onwards and upwards!

I believe I was asking for him to go along with harry and his gang of four. Just Bond left for the time being. Perhaps we might now get a CEO whom can offer sensible contracts to any future players or coaching staff. SWP must realise now, he isn't going to get a golden handshake. He might as well go of his own accord too.

Given he last 3 1/2 years, seems simplistic to blame things on Beard and not those he worked for. If they had been deeply unhappy, would have made changes long ago.
The question is why he left. Whether forced/manuevered out. AND how things will be different now, both in day to day operations/fan contacts - and more in terms of what QPR striving for (If our goals have changed etc)

Suspect internal differences of opinion, pleased it's been settled amicably, no tears, no fuss.
TF and Beard were, by their own admission, not really football people, but learning on the job - learning that you can't simply impose typical corporate process and culture into a football environment.
Beard gave it a go, but seems to have come up short.
So, thanks for trying and good luck in the future, but let's get in someone with a bit more footballing nous (perhaps not Harry though...)

It's an error I hope Tony learns from.
Given he had no football experience. he should have employed a CEO that had worked in football before.
Whilst the buck ultimately stops with Tony, Beard was there to be the top executive running the Club on a daily basis and must carry huge responsibility for some of the ridiculous contracts and salaries that we were lumbered with.
We can no longer be a Club that an inexperienced CEO cuts his teeth on.

We can no longer be a Club that an inexperienced CEO cuts his teeth on. I doubt Beard would have negotiated and signed off those ridiculous contracts off his own accord, each contract would have been individually sanctioned by the board so he can't be blamed for that. He did however mess some up and some deadline deals failed to happen, but as has been said, he learnt 'on the job'. Tony considered it more important to have a man with event management experience rather than football club experience as CEO.

Of course the need for a man with football experience is SLIGHTLY less now - Given that Fernandes et al have had almost 4 Seasons of experience...+ Have Les Ferdinand. And presumably Beard had learned some lessons from mistakes made.
But having said that, obviously want football man...But given our New Stadium and Training Ground interests, that part cant be ignored either.

QPR1st Statement Resignation of Phil Beard Posted on February 15, 2015 by QPR1st Following his resignation as chief executive of QPR, QPR 1st Supporters Trust wishes Phil Beard well for the future. The Supporters Trust will aim to establish a positive relationship with his successor. The officer with responsibility for running day to day affairs at the club sets the tone for what kind of club they want QPR to be. We hope that in whatever new managerial arrangements are being established that the most senior management position will be occupied by someone who is keen to work in partnership with the traditional fan-base – demonstrating that the board understands the difference between football fans and supermarket customers. The appointment of a director of football has no doubt impacted on the position of chief executive, and we hope the club is changing in a positive way. We hope the new arrangements will be clear and the lines of responsibility will be fully explained to supporters. We also hope that the new person with chief executive responsibilities will be able to get progress on Warren Farm training ground and the new stadium at Old Oak, and communicate with and fully involve supporters. The Trust believes it is important for the future of the club that supporters can have a good relationship with the club’s senior management and we look forward to meeting members of the board and new management team in the near future. www.qpr1st.com/news/resignation-phil-beard/

If QPR want a really really good CEO, look no further than Sydney City and Tony Pignata. The guy is brilliant at his job, he can deal with people at all levels from fans, media, owners, players and coaches. He has a real passion for the game.

While not minding his departure, I sincerely believe the Cub should have issued a statement - or at least a tweet - today or yesterday saying "Thanks and good luck" . If they did, I missed it.
