I noticed there is a friendly next Weds 28 th. January 11 PM (UK time). CHILE V USA Would Isla and Vargas be expected to play in it ? If so might be a huge loss not to have them both in the squad for Saturday , even if back in time might not be selected. Cant they hey get phantom injuries like Rio did earlier in the season

Both of them are an asset yet Harry still insists on playing them out of position. I too would be getting fed up. I am starting to wonder if Harry and his staff are mentally balanced. A world class striker being played on the wing and a world class right midfielder being asked to play as a wing back.

It's sad .. In Redknapp we trust .
I guess if we do the unbelievable now and sign another Striker, that will be four Strikers all in front of Vargas whis an International Striker for a very good team. One that's beaten England recently . Maybe you can see why he feels a little bit hard done by .
Maybe just maybe though if our wingers were any good and played every week Vargas would have been given more of a shot up front . Due to their inefficiencies this is how it is and he Is having to fill in .

Strange how we have all these coaches on board yet some of our players are looking worse instead of improving.

Anyone else think Vargas is looking fed up recently? Fed up and frustrated. It seems that when one of our defenders or midfielders gets the ball all the others stand still waiting for the pass, however when Isla or Vargas gets the ball the other immediately moves forward into space looking for the pass which he almost inevitably receives from the other. We're halfway thru the season and rather than the rest of the team match that, we've slowly regressed and that's why Vargas is looking a bit fed up in my opinion. I'd be surprised if either are here next season, even if we do stay up. There are two good players there, being played out of position wasn't what they were expecting when they signed but the club culture of making the right noises, in this case in order to sign them, ie. telling Vargas we're signing him to play as a striker and not as a winger and Isla that he'll be a wing back in a back 3, not a full back in a back four and then doing something different must be incredibly frustrating and a bit of a let down for them.
