A few drinks should help soften the blow tonight whatever that blow may be!

Getting back to the reason for this thread, with Sandro, Neddy, Barton, Mutch and Nikko out, will 'Arry look at Adel tonight? Even in a bench role? He's got to use what tools he has available according to their availability. Injuries out first then degrees of fitness. If he's fit enough then why not. Just read Mark's post, didn't know he was still ill.

Probably leave it to the Kit Manager to decide if he's fit enough

And despite Redknapp being Adel's Strongest backer at QPR, I'm sure he wouldnt mind Taarabt being humiliated! (especially if he could get a QPR win anyway)

I saw some quotes which I assumed from last night - but maybe they were just taken from the media earlier

Those predictions are just about what I would expect too.

How about 3 points from the next 3 games and then 14 more up to the end of December. Makes 21 points half way through the season For example its possible without creating shocks Villa H 3 scum A 0 M City H 0 Newcastle A 1 Leicester H 3 Swansea A 1 Burnley H 3 Everton A 0 West Brom H 3 Arsenal A 0 Palace H 3 Don't panic (yet) So far so good! As the actress said ......... i would take those results. but one thing i would change cos i think its pivotal, and thats the city game. a defeat and then go to sjp to an inform geordie side, i'm not confident we will get a point. rather a point against city and then i can see us beating newcastle.

Those predictions seem pretty good 57. Agree with Maude be good to get something out of City game . Shown we can compete with Liverpool before we gave away that point and a good effort at SB I guess we want one point minimum from the City and Newcastle games, three would be fantastic . It's ok having those four home games as 3 points but it rarely happens like that . Maybe three home wins in those but then nick an away win at Swansea. 21 points would be fantastic, as of this minute would probably bite your arm off for 19 (4 wins, 4 losses)

A point against Man City would be huge, and I think it's possible the way the backfield has been playing. Newcastle is a winnable, but I would certainly take a point in that game. The so-called easy games aren't so easy, as the other team feels it's a winnable game as well, so it's important to get points off sides in the top half when possible. Still have to agree, need at least 14 points before the end of the year.

"Win Win Win every game for me if Harry can do it great if he can't get someone else in".
That more or less says it for me. No-one has any idea whether Harry will guide us to glory or continue with the kind of results he's getting now. The future is a closed book. If things don't significantly improve, no-one will want him here, or, what amounts to the same thing, no-one will care very much if he goes.
If we start winning and go on winning, he'll be the man. When it stops, we'll change him.
As for supporters wanting us to lose - no, with respect, I don't think so. Why? Why would they need to? In his top-flight time at QPR he has done little BUT lose. That may not be his fault, but he was one of the highest paid managers in the world when he arrived (if reports are to be believed).
But it certainly isn't the supporters' fault.
The crucial issue is as harr suggests. He has an easy remedy. Win, and go on winning. Nothing else will keep him in his job
And that's the answer to the Hughes/Redknapp debate too. I thought there was less to Hughes' and Redknapp's reputations than met the eye - they seemed to be quite 'big time' without ever having done anything sufficiently big time in their career to warrant it (look at the track record of most Chelsea managers in the same period).
But I also thought they had SOME kind of record, so I wonder why they DID do so badly.
Certainly, supporters 'gave them a chance'. We blamed Warnock for the poor first season, and Hughes for the poor second season, so, although Redknapp took us down, it wasn't all his fault, and although we finished well behind two of this season's strugglers, we finished ahead of all the rest.
Whether that will count in his favour if he doesn't start getting the results this season, I doubt. Warnock did far better, keeping us top all through the season, but it didn't keep him in his job when we looked less than quality in the top flight.
I'm still surprised we haven't done better. Not because I expect anything specific, but with 20 teams in the division, the odds seem overwhelmingly in favour of any Club, with 17 survival places and only 3 going down. And with three managers, all of whom were very experienced, two of whom won us promotion from the second tier, and who were all vigorously defended and even admired by many or even most of our supporters, we seem to be underperforming impressively even in merely 'statistical' terms.
If we ask more of the players, the manager might get a little breathing space. Not sure I would refer to them in quite the terms Alfaranger uses - "he's got to use what tools he has available ... ". Tools indeed, but he's stuck with them until the transfer window at least, I think.

So far so good! As the actress said ......... 1 point ahead of schedule ....calm descends for 2 weeks does that mean it is fine to lose to Newcastle

1 point ahead of schedule ....calm descends for 2 weeks does that mean it is fine to lose to Newcastle No, need to get points from Newcastle. Had they got all three from City, it would have been okay to lose, but I would say at least a draw and try to get all three.

Disagree. We played well. But we Need POINTS It was a great point . Great performance . Well done to the coaches and players, special praise Charlie's performance . We are still around three pts app behind where I hoped we might be . Get a point at Newcastle and beat Leics and that's where I would have hoped we might be as a minimum. Ie 12 pts from 13 games. And with home games against Burnley , Palace and WBA to come . Even if we lost to Newcastle but beat Leicester , I would be very happy with that .
