Rodney was saying after the West Ham defeat to stick with Redknapp, drop Rio and let Redknapp just get three decent players in January .
I for one don't think we will be spending that much in January and think that's a good thing .
If if we could get the players that might make a difference if we are still in the mix or not far off 17 th place, who would you buy or loan?
Defoe one of the three maybe ? Who else to give us some more metal like Barton does ?

Get Anton back to partner his brother in the centre of defence.
Are Bosingwa and Assou-Ekotto available? That would be the full back problem sorted.

Great Player Deeney, did they want several million for him though . 6-8 was it ?

Mings and Paredes together would be less in wages than what we're paying players like SWP. Mings is looking at an exit at Ipswich, Paredes though just joined Watford, but as he's already in London, hopefully the lure of the Premiership will help and if we go down he'll end up where he is now but on better wages (with a chairman that changes managers with slightly less frequency!). We'll have to spend money to get players good enough, our reputation precedes us, so why not spend it wisely on young players looking to step up, whom will improve, which will give us a chance to build a young team that can survive and then kick on rather than simply plug gaps with Defoe who is on the decline career wise and won't be around in two years time, whilst taking home a massive wage and forcing us to spend again to replace him sooner rather than later. Ake, as a loan of course won't be that much, his wages are certainly within our range and he would improve the midfield immediately. There's no chance of a potential purchase though so he would only be a short term solution and leave us needing to replace him but won't cost the earth in the meantime and would give back more than what we would pay in wages, so in the short term, he makes financial sense for a short term fix.

Thanks for the feedback Mark . Would all make lots of sense with some young talent instead of Crouch /Defoe type players . Still have a hunch we might bid for one of those if HR is still Manager. I am not sure how much we will spend in Jan, guess depends on our position but maybe £10 million or so plus loan ? So far looked at Mings. Seems a raw talent with bags of pace . believe Palace have already bid £2-3 Million for him allegedly. It might be Arsenal and Everton have interest too? Will look at the others soon. We definitely need some more younger players around the edges. Can only think of Petrasso from our current bunch that might get tested at top level .
