Looking at Warnock / Hughes season 2011-12 We had four wins and five draws (17 pts ) by the end of the year with 18 games to go . Would like a few more points than that this time .
What would you say are key games before 2015 . I realise they are all key .
Stoke H Villa H Leics H Burnley H WBA H Palace H These six games are huge before 2015 , better chance to take points off these teams at LR . Think these will all finish in bottom 8 with exception maybe Villa ?

December will be a huge month If we could win three games out of the six it would be huge I think we will find all 19 away games tough this season which might relegate us

All of those 6 games are winnable, though unlikely that we'll pick up maximum points. I think we'll be OK though - my prediction/total guesswork... HOME GAMES 6 wins 8 draws 5 losses AWAY GAMES 3 wins 6 draws 10 losses 41 points

I wonder if Warnock will wave to the home crowd if they call when we are 3 up. I wonder if he will bring all the emails with him

These next four games will be very telling, have two winnable games with West Ham away and Aston Villa at home. Southampton could bring points as well, despite their great form. And Liverpool at home will be very interesting, just to see if this team does better against a top side at home. If we can get some points from top sides at Loftus Road and lesser sides on the road, I think this team will be alright.

Wish I could share your optimism Corndog We are playing better at Home but yet to see anything of an away performance . These midfielder injuries are annoying too. After 12 games(NEWCASTLE) it's probable WARNOCK (15 Pts 4 wins, 3 draws, 5 losses) would have managed more points than REDKNAPP and we know how that one ended with a Manager that didn't have the luxury of HRs budgets .

It wasn't really optimism Harr, more of just what this team needs to do to stay in this league. This team needs to win games against bottom half teams at home and get points from them on the road and will need to get points against top sides at home as well if they want to ensure safety. I am willing to give a little bit of time for players to get comfortable with the team and their roles, but that time is quickly going away and other teams are just going to get tougher. The injuries hurt, but this team has a little bit of depth in the midfield so it's not an excuse.

We're always going to get one or two "Shock" results...
But I don't think that will include Southampton. But who really knows

Those stats from the injuries thread make it sound like a certain blowout. But yeah this team definitely needs to raise it's game.

We can't go through another perm season with no away wins? Harr.? No London agree . Funny how Warnock started off with away wins at Everton and Wolves and found it harder to get home wins . Maybe a good old London Derby could be the game ? They always say anything can happen in one . Maybe West Ham will be kind to us London

Thanks Harr. Unlike Blanche Dubois in Streetcar, we usually cannot rely on the "Kindness of Strangers" Tennessee Williams.

One thing for sure, the winnable games are the one we lose and the loseable games are a certainty for another loss look at the moon....not my finger

If you can't defend then you don't win games at this level. You just don't.
Unless we start learning to defend and shut out the opposition then every game is more than likely going to be a loss.

If we win the winnable games you listed at home that gives us 19 points before the new year, two over Warnock, but looking at the remaining schedule there will need to be a good handful of points on the road. Now it's time to lift the game away from Loftus Road, building on the last two performances at home.

What would you say are key games before 2015 . I realise they are all key . Stoke H Villa H Leics H Burnley H WBA H Palace H These six games are huge before 2015 , better chance to take points off these teams at LR . Think these will all finish in bottom 8 with exception maybe Villa ? 1)Aug 16 Hull (H) --Cumulative Pts 0 ---- Season 2011-12 Warnock / Hughes 0 2)Aug 23 Tottenham (A) -------------0---------------------------- 3 Everton Win 3)Aug 30 Sunderland (H)--------------3----------------------------3 4)Sep 13 Manchester United (A)------3----------------------------4 Newcastle draw 5)Sep 20 Stoke City (H)---------------4-----------------------------7 Wolves win 6)Sep 27 Southampton (A)------------4-----------------------------8 Villa draw 7)Oct 4 West Ham United (A)----------4----------------------------8 8)Oct 18 Liverpool (H)-----------------4-------------------------------9 Blackburn draw 9)Oct 25 Aston Villa (H)----------------7------------------------------12 Chelsea win 10)Nov 1 Chelsea (A)------------------7-------------------------------12 11)Nov 8 Manchester City (H)--------8--------------------------------12 12)Nov 22 Newcastle (A) ------------8-------------------------------15 Stoke Win 13)Nov 29 Leicester City (H)--------11--------------------------------15 14)Dec 2 Swansea City (A)----------11--------------------------------16 WBA draw 15)Dec 6 Burnley (H)----------------14--------------------------------16 16)Dec 13 Everton (A)----------------14-------------------------------16 17)Dec 20 West Bromwich Albion (H)----17---------------------------16 18)Dec 26 Arsenal (A)---------------17----------------------------------17 Swans draw 19)Dec 28 Crystal Palace (H)-----------18-------------------------------17 20)Jan 1 Swansea City (H)--------------19------------------------------17 Warnock Sacked 21)Jan 10 Burnley (A) ------------------19 ------------------------------17 Hughes 1st Game Newcastle defeat 22)Jan 17 Manchester United (H)-------19----------------------------20 Wigan win Hughes first win 23)Jan 31 Stoke City (A)----------------19------------------------------ 21 Villa draw 24)Feb 7 Southampton (H)----------19----------------------------------21 25)Feb 11 Sunderland (A)------------22--------------------------------21 26)Feb 21 Hull City (A)--------------22----------------------------------21 27)Feb 28 Tottenham Hotspur (H)----22--------------------------------22 Everton draw 28)Mar 3 Arsenal (H)---------------22-----------------------------------22 29)Mar 14 Crystal Palace (A)-----------------------------------------25 Liverpool win 30)Mar 21 Everton (H)------------------------------------------------25 31)Apr 4 West Bromwich Albion (A)----------------------------------28 Arsenal win 32)Apr 11 Chelsea (H)-------------------------------------------------28 33)Apr 18 Aston Villa (A)----------------------------------------------31 Swans win 34)Apr 25 West Ham (H)-----------------------------------------------31 35)May 2 Liverpool (A)-------------------------------------------------34 Spurs win 36)May 9 Manchester City (A)------------------------------------------34 37)May 16 Newcastle United (H)---------------------------------------37 Stoke win 38)May 24 Leicester City (A) --------------------------------------------37 Looking forward to seeing us with 20 pts minimum this Christmas . At the minute WARNOCK 1 REDKNAPP 0 Way off where we needed to be ! We needed a good start and failed miserably. 37 points looks an eternity away at the minute , can't see where we get an away point at the minute , look dreadful away. Updated after Swansea
