We are in a race with Burnley and Leicester for this players services. We are not in a race with Chelsea, United, City etc. Therefore he is either not been noticed by them or he's not good enough for them, I err towards the latter. The best we can buy then with the resources we have available is a player who is not good enough for most of the teams in our division. This is a built in failure point. It wont matter what tactics Harry adopts because at the end of the day a team full of players who are better than our team of players will (mostly) prevail. This doesn't allow for a team with a good spirit giving it a go so that's got to be in the player as well. Obvious really isn't it. We may be capable of beating the teams in the bottom half or two thirds of the table if we have a better day than they do. We may sometimes even give one of the top teams a shock or a 'good go', but mostly not. Perhaps a maverick like Morrison is a good call because he's 'capable' of playing for a better team if he sorts himself out. If he was already sorted then presumably he'd still be with United or West Ham. For Eboue if we're going to push Isla up as a wing back as he isn't really a full back and Ned seems exposed in that position then its probably a solid choice.

The 25-year-old has struggled for regular first-team football since his move to the Etihad Stadium from Swansea City in 2012. However, The People claims that Redknapp is keen on a deal for Sinclair as he looks to add options in attack ahead of a possible relegation battle. Furthermore, the former Chelsea youth-team player is seen as a realistic target with the Englishman keen to kick-start his faltering career. Sinclair has made just three appearances for the Blues this season and has only tasted 23 minutes of playing action since the campaign began.

From the Telegraph www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur/11307637/Tottenham-transfer-news-Queens-Park-Rangers-line-up-new-bid-for-unsettled-winger-Aaron-Lennon.html Tottenham transfer news: Queens Park Rangers line up new bid for unsettled winger Aaron Lennon Former England international turned down a move to Loftus Road in the summer, but has struggled for opportunities at White Hart Lane Tottenham transfer news: Queens Park Rangers line up new bid for unsettled winger Aaron Lennon By Matt Law10:53AM GMT 22 Dec 2014 Comments3 Comments Queens Park Rangers are ready to make a new bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon when the transfer window reopens in January. Lennon pulled out of a loan switch to Loftus Road just 15 minutes before the summer window closed in favour of staying at Spurs to fight for his place. But, despite making 16 appearances in all competitions, Lennon has found himself largely pushed out of head coach Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham team. He was not included in the matchday squad for the Burnley game, having fallen behind both Nacer Chadli and Andros Townsend in Pochettino’s pecking order. Spurs need to offload players and free space in their Premier League squad to sign anybody in January and Lennon is one of a number of players they will consider offers for. A loan deal is likely to once again suit QPR and Lennon best, as the 27-year-old may not want to commit his long-term future to QPR until their top-flight status is assured. Stoke City also tried to sign Lennon in the summer and remain interested, but the player may be more inclined to stay in London for the time being. Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has ruled out a move for Lennon by saying: “We’ve spoken about other players, but never about Lennon. Let’s see if we’re able to sign these objectives. Cerci could be one of those.” Other than Lennon, Stoke are also interested in another player Spurs are willing to let go in the New Year – Mousa Dembele. Mark Hughes managed Dembele at Fulham, but the Belgian midfielder may take some convincing to move to the Britannia Stadium. His preference is to remain in London until the end of the season and there are concerns that Stoke’s style may not suit him. Dembele has lost his Tottenham place to two youngsters, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb, while summer signing Benjamin Stambouli is also ahead of him in Pochettino’s plans. Mason is hoping to play a part in Tottenham’s Christmas programme, despite suffering an ankle injury against Burnley. Both Mason and Spurs feared he had suffered a severe injury when he fell awkwardly close to half-time, but the damage is not thought to be as bad as was first feared.

Its looking like we may get two from Lennon , Townsend , Defoe , Keane , Crouch , Diarra and Scott Sinclair
If I had to choose two guess would go for Townsend Loan and Defoe . If we get Diarra on a permanent as a free agent, hope it's not a crazy long deal . Something like a deal until the end of season would be ok , with a view to an extended contract if we stay up and performance, games played.

Eboue would be interesting.
IF the wages were (by footballing standards) reasonable & he is up for a scrap, then he would be a good signing. However, if in any doubt about those two requirements, keep well away.
I suppose, those comments would also apply 100% for Diarra.
Please, look at Anya rather than another unwanted Tottenham player!
I am yet to see us linked to anyone that really inspires me, but that might not be a bad thing. It could mean we are being more realistic.

Jermain Defoe set on Premier League return with QPR after MLS move turns sour Dec 23, 2014 22:30 By John Cross Harry Redknapp has signed the former England striker two times in the past and is keen on bringing him on board to ease the burden on the in-form Charlie Austin

Harry Redknapp has admitted he wants to sign former England striker Defoe after his move to Toronto turned sour.
The QPR boss has voiced concerns about whether they can afford it but he last week flew to Malaysia to discuss transfer targets with chairman Tony Fernandes.
Defoe, who was also a target for Leicester in the summer, remains hopeful that he can sort out a move to QPR and has discussed terms.
QPR have also been looking at Blackburn striker Rudy Gustede, 26, as they look to bring in extra firepower in January.
Ian WaltonHarry Redknapp looks onHarry Redknapp: Hoping to sign Defoe again But Fernandes has made it clear he will not break the bank this time and leave the club's finances in danger if they go down.
Will Jermain Defoe move to QPR?
YES NO Defoe's current club Toronto insisted last week that they expected the striker to remain with them for the 2015 MLS season.
The former Spurs star was signed by the Canadian club as an expensive Designated Player as they looked to make an assault on the 2014 MLS Cup.
However, head coach Ryan Nelsen was sacked and Toronto finished the season as also-rans in the Eastern Conference, failing to make the play-offs despite Defoe's 11 goals in 19 matches.
RexJermain Defoe scores in the 17th minute He also featured in only three of their final 16 league matches, with Toronto president Tim Leiweke stating he didn't expect to see Defoe feature for the club again.
But last week general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said the club are counting on him leading their attack when the re-shaped league returns next year.
Speaking on Thursday, when asked about Defoe's future he said: "We’re planning on him getting back.
“The player has never indicated that he doesn't want to be here. There is a community around him that has indicated in various ways that they can be here or elsewhere, but, from him, no.”
Nevertheless, Bezbatchenko did declare that the club has contingency plans if an offer comes in that they cannot refuse.
"If someone comes and there's an offer, we'll consider it," he added.
"We’re planning to have him on our team, but we have contingencies."

From squawka.com Harry Redknapp denies rumours he wants to bring Tottenham winger Andros Townsend back to QPR By Andy Yates Posted on December 26, 2014 Harry Redknapp has dismissed talk that QPR are looking to bring Tottenham winger Andros Townsend to the club in January. Townsend has appeared just five times for Spurs this season having somewhat fallen out of favour with new manager Mauricio Pochettino and has been linked with a move away to a number of clubs including QPR and Southampton. Ronald Koeman want Spurs paid Harry Kane and Andros Townsend in Jay Rodriguez deal The 23-year old has played under Redknapp before when he was manager at Tottenham and has also been loaned out to QPR back in 2013 where he played 12 times scoring twice. But rumours of a second coming for the England international at Loftus Road were quickly cooled by the 67-year old. Speaking at his press conference Redknapp said, “Andros belongs to Tottenham. We’re looking for loans, we couldn’t be buying players at the moment.” Townsend is yet to score in the Premier League but has managed to a goal in the Europa League against Asteras as well as a goal for England in their Wembley game against San Marino in the Euro 2016 qualifier. Townsend has an 84% pass completion rate for Tottenham in the Premier League this season. I have no idea who but its clear that Harry wants more pace down the wings and I think there are enough spare wingers (Lennon, Salah, Townsend) for us to get one on loan...a striker will be tougher without cash...I really liked being linked with Gestede as I think he's a young Zamora but even Blackburn won't give him away. I think a new CB can probably wait until the summer.

Redknapp has prioritised a winger and a centre-forward in the transfer window and thinks 23-year-old Townsend can help Rangers beat the drop. Townsend produced the best form of his career while on loan at Loftus Road under Redknapp two seasons ago. The winger has endured a nightmare 2014, with ankle surgery ruling him out of the world Cup having played an instrumental role in helping England qualify. He then found himself out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino and has been started in just one Premier League match this season. Townsend has featured more prominently in the UEFA Europa League, starting seven matches and helping Spurs negotiate the group phase.
