Harry Redknapp's return to White Hart Lane was a miserable one as the QPR manager saw his side beaten comfortably by a rampant Tottenham.
Winger Nacer Chadli scored twice for Spurs, while defender Eric Dier and striker Emmanuel Adebayor also got their names on the scoresheet.
Tottenham 4-0 QPR: We must work harder - Harry Redknapp
Redknapp's QPR have lost both of their Premier League games without scoring.
Beforehand, the talk had centred on Redknapp's first visit to Spurs since he was sacked by the club in June 2012 after almost four years in charge.
The visitors had a particularly strong Tottenham flavour with Spurs legend Glenn Hoddle, who was appointed by Redknapp as QPR's first-team coach earlier this month, watching from the stands
Redknapp, 67, was afforded a warm welcome by the home fans but any sentiment was quickly forgotten as his team was brushed aside by Pochettino's men.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp cut a forlorn figure on his White Hart Lane return
The Argentine has been tasked with earning a top-four finish and introducing a similar style to the one he implemented at Southampton.
Although they face a sterner test of their credentials in a week's time against Liverpool, Tottenham fans will feel encouraged with both the quality and ruthlessness of this performance.
Spurs recalled five players rested for their 2-1 win over Limassol in their Europa League play-off and showed no signs of fatigue to take an early lead.
Christian Eriksen dispossessed Loic Remy, which allowed Nabil Bentaleb to send Adebayor clear down the right. The Togo striker's cross to the back post picked out Chadli, who controlled on his chest before deftly poking the ball past Robert Green.
QPR's White Hart Lane struggles
QPR have managed just three wins in 27 visits to White Hart Lane in all competitions, with their last coming back in May 1994.
QPR should have levelled when Matty Phillips brought down a difficult ball on the edge of the Tottenham box but, with only Hugo Lloris to beat, he sliced his shot over the crossbar.
The visitors rarely threatened in the remainder of the first half as Spurs took command.
Pochettino praises Lamela
Argentine Lamela, who has looked reinvigorated under compatriot Pochettino after a difficult first season following his move from Roma, impressed again and had a major hand in Tottenham's second goal shortly before the break.
The 22-year-old jinked past several players as he burst into the area and crossed for the unmarked Chadli to head past Green.
QPR gave debuts to Netherlands midfielder Fer following his £8m move from Norwich, and Chile defender Mauricio Isla after his arrival on loan from Juventus, but neither player had much of an impact on a disappointing day for QPR.
Their afternoon would get worse, though, when Adebayor added a fourth goal for Spurs, confidently dispatching Danny Rose's cross past Green.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino: "It was a great performance. We are trying to develop our style and philosophy. It is not easy but the players always try.
"Erik Lamela did well, it is never easy when you come to new country and you are young to adapt. He needs time to show his skill."
QPR boss Harry Redknapp: "We didn't play well and got what we deserved, which is nothing.
"I thought we were in awe of Tottenham a little bit. You have to play with energy, you can't stroll about in this division if you want to stay in it."

Caulker calls for passion
Steven Caulker has called on his QPR team-mates to show more passion after what he hopes will be the lowest day in the club's season.
The 22-year-old England international and his Rangers colleagues were outclassed as they slipped to a 4-0 defeat at Tottenham on Sunday and now sit at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table.
A Nacer Chadli brace and a second goal in as many games for Eric Dier had Spurs in control of the game before half-time, with Emmanuel Adebayor adding a fourth in the second half.
Former Tottenham defender Caulker, playing in a back three alongside Rio Ferdinand and Richard Dunne, admitted the display was not good enough and believes things can only get better for Harry Redknapp's side.
"It was a bitterly disappointing performance and the result proved that," he said.
"We were second to everything all over the pitch and we paid the price. We got off to a sloppy start and they got the goal and a bit of momentum.
"We know we have got to be better than that this year. We hope that will be the lowest point of the season. It was a poor, poor showing and there are no excuses.
"There is no hiding and we definitely have to go and be better against Sunderland at home. We have personal pride and it was not evident, we were weak all over the pitch.
"If we are going to stay in this league we are going to have to be a little bit stronger and more passionate at times."
Redknapp, returning to White Hart Lane for the first time since he was sacked as Spurs boss in 2012, handed debuts to both Mauricio Isla and Leroy Fer - with the latter conceding his new side did not deserve anything from the game.
"We didn't play to our abilities," the former Norwich midfielder said.
"We have a strong team and what we showed was not the best. The goals in the first half were too easy. We had to fight and we didn't - It was a shock.
"We have to look forward to Wednesday (the Capital One Cup tie against Burton) and stick together. We have a great squad. Today wasn't a good game for me but I want to show more on Wednesday."
For all of QPR's problems, Tottenham looked like they were adapting to the philosophy of new head coach Mauricio Pochettino with ease.
Having laboured to a 1-0 win at West Ham on the opening day, Spurs played some fluid, attacking football in the Argentinian's first competitive home game in charge.
Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen shone alongside goalscorers Adebayor and Chadli, with the Belgium international pleased to entertain the fans.
"That's what everyone wants to see when they watch Tottenham," Chadli said of Sunday's performance.
"We did very well and I'm very happy to score two goals. It is good when we create a lot of chances and it was a good spectacle for the fans.
"We started with high pressure, had a lot of the ball and created lots of chances. At half-time we had a conversation, we wanted to score more goals and we started the second half strong as well."

. and Redknapp is also struggling with it
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp defended his decision to play with three centre backs at Tottenham, but there are question marks over how effective the formation is in the Premier League.
Redknapp’s QPR and Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United are yet to win a Premier League game this season after introducing the 3-5-2 system at their respective clubs.
Hull City have largely played with the formation for the last couple of seasons and manager Steve Bruce has so far enjoyed more success than Redknapp and Van Gaal with it in England.
Although their central defenders have not been performing particularly well, with the exception of Phil Jones, it is the wing backs who are causing Redknapp and Van Gaal the biggest problems.
Mauricio Isla suffered a difficult debut against Tottenham, with the White Hart Lane club constantly doubling up on his side with Danny Rose and Nacer Chadli. As a result, Steve Caulker was dragged over to the right, leaving Rio Ferdinand exposed in the middle.
Ashley Young has also struggled with the defensive side of his duties in a wing-back role for United and was caught out in the home defeat to Swansea City.
Redknapp admitted after the Spurs game that he has switched to 3-5-2 because Loic Remy does not like playing up front on his own, while Van Gaal appears to be trying to accommodate both Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
Other than asking Bruce for tips, Redknapp and Van Gaal are faced with the choice of defiantly sticking with the formation or making a brave decision over their strikers. Matt Law
