4-0 to Rangers. Man of the match definitely Junior Hoilett who scored two of them with the other two coming from Charlie. Typical SWP managed to miss an open goal from inside the six yard box. Overall a good performance, especially from Ale Faurlin who seems to have got over his injury well.

Match report from westlondonsport
Rangers ease to pre-season win in Dublin
02/08/2014 By Tim Rourke
Charlie Austin and Junior Hoilett both scored twice as QPR won the first game of their pre-season visit to Ireland, beating Shamrock Rovers 4-0.
Recent signing Steven Caulker featured for the R’s in Dublin, where Hoilett opened the scoring by finishing from eight yards out after collecting Alejandro Faurlin’s pass.
Austin netted the second goal when he headed home Joey Barton’s right-wing corner on 33 minutes.
Shaun Wright-Phillips, on as a substitute, missed a chance to add a third when he failed to hit the target after being set up by Hoilett, who scored in the final minute – his 25-yard shot appearing to take a deflection.
There was still time for Austin to head in Caulker’s cross to round off a comprehensive win for Harry Redknapp’s side, who play Athlone Town on Tuesday evening.

Good to see SWP showing the sort of form that has gained him legendary status amongst QPR fans. Thus becoming a cult figure in the form of a headless chicken.

I'd like to see him stay and prove he is as good as he thinks he is. It's easy to shine in a team full of stars but when you play for a club like ours and you show some real form, you stand out and get noticed. Just like Adel did a few years back/

Remy is the best finisher from outside the 6 yard box I have ever seen play in the hoops 2 of the goals he scored for us were jaw dropping. If we can get him to stay and play 25 games then our relegation worries will be pretty much over. There are very few premiership strikers I would willingly swap him for
Aguero. Sanchez that's about it I think

I think this starting XI can survive in the Premiership, but they need some depth.

From the Daily Mail. Remy now in Ireland. From Champioc Cup in New York in front of 100,000 and a worldwide TV audience to Athlone Town in Ireland in front of a few thousand and streamed vision if lucky. How the (almost) mighty have fallen! Loic Remy links up with QPR squad in Ireland after his proposed move to Liverpool falls through due to medical concerns Liverpool were close to completing an £8.5million deal to sign Loic Remy The Reds said Remy failed a medical so decided against signing the striker Remy is in contention to feature in QPR's next friendly match By ANTHONY HAY PUBLISHED: 08:24 AEST, 4 August 2014 | UPDATED: 10:50 AEST, 4 August 2014 Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy has joined up with his team-mates following the collapse of his proposed move to Liverpool. France international Remy looked set to complete a permanent move away from Loftus Road before he failed a medical at Liverpool. Remy, who impressed while on loan at Newcastle last season by scoring 14 league goals, even travelled to America to finalise his move to Brendan Rodgers' side. However the 27-year-old has now returned to QPR and is in contention to take part in his side's pre-season friendly match against Athlone Town on Tuesday evening. Harry Redknapp said he was willing to accept Remy back into his squad and questioned Liverpool's decision to pull the plug on the £8.5million move. The former Portsmouth boss will be hoping Remy can score the goals to help QPR consolidate their place in the Premier League this season. .......and from the Offie IRELAND TOUR BLOG: LOIC REMY JOINS UP WITH QPR SQUAD PUBLISHED 22:14 3rd August 2014 by @qprfc Another busy day on tour for QPR THE day after our 4-0 win at Shamrock Rovers was one of rest and recuperation for the players following a hectic schedule of double-training sessions. Following 8am breakfast in the private dining area at Carton House, the squad were able to relax until a light stretch and warm-down in the swimming pool at 11am. Premier League Productions – the television arm of the Premier League – were on site to capture some great footage, while a reccy was carried out at nearby Crumlin Children’s Hospital, ahead of a potential visit from Rio Ferdinand. On Friday, a family friend of six-year-old Sean Scully had been in touch with the club to tell us of the brave young boy’s plight. An innocent by-stander, he was caught in the cross-fire of a shooting seven weeks ago which resulted in him being shot in the neck and left paralysed. With Sean being a huge football fan, the family asked if Ferdinand could visit him in hospital, which was something the R’s defender was keen to do upon hearing Sean’s story. Meanwhile, Charlie Austin and Joey Barton carried out extensive interviews for Premier League Productions to look ahead to the club’s return to the top-flight. After lunch, Ferdinand made the 30-minute journey to visit Sean, and gave him a whole host of gifts, including one of his match shirts, signed memorabilia, and a ‘5’ baseball cap. Sean was the most popular man on the ward as he then took his new best friend on a tour of the hospital to meet other sick children. Ferdinand’s visit left smiles on many faces, particularly Sean’s, as well as his mum Gillian, dad Carl and brother Shane. To check out footage of the visit, click here. Back at Carton House, preparations began for a live edition of Ireland Call-In with defender Danny Simpson, while striker Loic Remy joined up with the QPR squad shortly before a BBQ was served at 6.30pm. Prior to going on the air at 8pm with Simpson, Rob Green recorded his daily tour diary, keeping R’s fans up-to-date with what’s going on from within the team camp. And then it was LCI time (well, ICI time actually) as Simmo answered a host of questions live as they came in on Twitter, discussing the tour so far, and his crazy celebrations of THAT Bobby Zamora goal. Tomorrow the players will be up bright and early to train in front of QPR fans, as Harry Redknapp puts on an open session while preparing for the final match of the tour against Athlone Town on Tuesday evening. Taarabt I presume will be playing tonight Athlone Town athlonetownfc.ie/preview-athlone-town-v-queens-park-rangers/ Home First Team Youth Academy Club Info Ticket Info Lotto Contact Us Membership Preview – Athlone Town v Queens Park Rangers August 4, 2014 - Latest News A large crowd is expected in Lissywollen tomorrow as Harry Redknapp’s Queens Park Rangers travel to the Midlands as part of their Pre-Season tour of Ireland. Keith Long’ will use the game as a chance to rotate the squad and give some fringe players a run, and the players will no doubt take experience from the game into the remaining series of games in the league. Despite the disappointment of conceding a late equalizer in Bray on Friday, the Town players will enjoy playing the likes of the Joey Bartons and the Rio Ferdinands as they look to build confidence going into this weekends clash in Sligo. The Premier League side beat fellow Irish side Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght on Saturday thanks to two braces from Junior Hoilett and Charlie Austin. The full squad will travel from their base in Carton House and it is expected most will get a run out. One name who’s had his name in the headlines in recent weeks – Loic Remy – arrived in Ireland on Sunday and began training today, although it is doubtful he will get a game but may travel with the rest of the team. As a large crowd is to attend supporters are advised to arrive early. Tickets booked may be collected and some tickets may still be available to purchase on the night. It will be a great night for football in the Midlands and a reminder that kick off for tomorrows game is 6pm. QPR Irish Squad:

Remy I could maybe understand...Not quite fit/or decided.
But basically there's nothing Redknapp has done (that I've seen) to show he really wants Taarabt at QPR
And once again, categorical declarations don't turn out

Remy's just come back from a few weeks off and has trained for about 3 sessions so far so he won't be fully match ready yet. Imagine if he's still here, he will play on Saturday.

He is with us and ready” goo.gl/unD0mX #QPR He seems a troubled soul does young Adel. I don't know if he's a strong character or how many other people influence him (he seemed to have a lot of retainers that time at Fulham). I bet they all want a bit of his money as well. It wouldn't surprise me if he just doesn't fancy playing at Athlone Town having been roared on at Milan.. You can't tell with him.

It was Redknapp who said he would "certainly play"
I actually saw him who wanted to play always...And got upset when taken off.
Someone suggested he might be one of the subs, just not announced.
I guess we'll see.

It was Redknapp who said he would "certainly play" I guess that was with the assumption he was approaching a reasonable level of fitness, was injury-free and hadn't fallen out with the manage, coaches and all of his team mates. If all is well in the QPR camp, I'd be confident he'll make an appearance.

A lot of Chelsum trolls on the YouTube, but fun chatting and chanting with the Rs fans. Looked good today, Charlie needs to sharpen up a bit, but I think QPR will be just fine this season.
