£31-50 - Those were the days. I thought I got a good deal then because if I had moved forward 2 rows I would have been in the £42 seats and with a lower down and worse view. It sounds cheap by todays standards but I still remember having to save a bit to be able to afford it! How many pints of beer could you get for the price of a season ticket back then? How many pints of beer can you buy for the cost of a season ticket now? They used to use 'Mars Bars' as a relative cost indicator years ago I hear.

I had to stand in the Loft as I couldn't afford a season ticket! I suspect that my salary was less than £3k per year then.
The cost of travelling from Ipswich & getting married may have had a bit to do with that though!

Thanks for that tacticair.
Prices had doubled in those four years, & all for a failed relegation campaign as well!
The last game of that season remains one of my worst moments of watching Rangers!
Travelled from Ipswich with a group of their supporters (including my wife) & stood with them in the school end. Being thrashed was bad enough, but the pity they showed to me when it was announced that we had re-appointed that **** as a manager was beyond my endurance!
It was even worse just over twelve months later when he sold Paul Goddard. Am I bitter about him? No, because that would imply that the grounds for hating him whern't justified!

It is good to see TacticalR finally posting on here, he has long been one of the best contributors on LFWs.
My God, how the prices have risen in recent times.

I was having a bit of a tidy up and noticed that program (QPR v Birmingham April 1978) had the season ticket prices. Interesting to see that the prices doubled in those four years during the late 1970s.
