Explained
IanJTaylor @ijtaylor81 3m
In the first year of our new partnership with Nike, we are contracted to take the kit designs from their catalogue range ... #QPR
This is the procedure with all their club deals in year one. Going forward, years 2-5 will be bespoke designs with fans involved #QPR

Oh dear!!!! Someone's taken their eye off the ball there. We can get 40,000 flags on the seats at Wembley but are willing to except a compromise on our kits. Surely in the meeting somebody pointed out to Nike that we play in HOOPS and not stripes or was Phil Beard only looking at the zero's on the contract? For me the home kit looks like a French sailors outfit and Nedum Onuaha must have been thinking didn't I wear this kit at Man City? ?

Home kit looks like something that a French onion seller would wear to the beach.
Away kit is ok. 3rd strip is boring and unimaginative really.
Totally nondescript set of threads.

Doubtful, that looks like a catalogue for the general public. I would imaging clubs get t choose from a "trade" catalogue with a bigger selection of unbranded designs. I suppose we should e grateful they had a hooped design in the catalogue.

I did tweet to Mr. Taylor. qprreport: @ijtaylor81 Can you link us to @nike Catalogue so we can see the options? Just surprised #Nike are unable/unwilling to do 3/4 Hoops for #QPR

@tonyfernandes: Guys. Spare a thought. Takes a long long time to design a kit for us. We are going to have a long long relationship with Nike.
@tonyfernandes: Next season after this we will be back and bigger hoops and Dennis the Menance and look at the badge
@tonyfernandes: Frankly I would play in anything just to be in the premier. And I'm thrilled to have Nike.
“@tonyfernandes: It's been a mega week and the owners are doing everything possible to make us bigger. Just cant get out kit as we want in time period.”

The clue is in the nickname... "Super HOOPS"... not "Super HALF Hoops"... Could live with the narrower hoops, like the collar, but REALLY dislike the vast expanse of white at the back.

Will having Nike as our kit manufacturer guarantee results? No it will not. 'Uncle' Tony please stop seeing us as little QPR who should be grateful to have Nike make kits for us. It's demeaning and embarrassing. Stop sacrificing our history and identity for this false perception that Nike can make us bigger. That we're bigger with the right deals in place with 'partners' rather than the right players. I know you would play in anything just to be in the Premiership and would probably sell out your own mother if it was a good deal for you, but some of us have pride in our history and identity. Could you be more noncommittal on the badge after your u-turn? Not even hoops. Sell out b!tch.

This morning Fernandes tweeted that kit was not perfect and that QPR had not given Nike enough time to design the shirt. My Question would be why didn't they give them enough time? Kit deal was announced months ago and to be honest it isn't like we haven't played in the Hoops for some time now. Also this is what Nike do they produce sports equipment and outfits. Good part is that we are supposedly receiving shed loads of money for the contract and as everyone keeps saying it will only be for one year but that also means that any parent of a QPR child will be pressured to buy another shirt for their child which will be the 4th shirt in 4 years. I'm sure there was some kind of rule against that!!!!! That is what I'm struggling to understand!!!!!

And all clubs change their kit every year these days so no, no kind of rule agaist that. In any case, £40 quid a year for a shirt some of these ds virtually live i is hardly likely to put any parents in the poorhouse is it?

Although I am grateful that it will not break my bank I'm afraid not everyone is as fortunate as myself and obviously you fabs. Also it still doesn't explain why they didn't have time as stated by TF.So now we have 3 kits and not a HOOP in sight bit strange for a team that has played in Hoops for decades!!!!

Even if we HAD to take what was in the catalogue...I guess I'd like to see that catalogue to see if there was nothing better. And 2nd or 3rd strip
They didn't for instance consult QPR Fans and say these are the choices.

Oh come on, we're talkig about a £40 football shirt. It's irrelevant what you or I or anyone else an afford. Should we campaign for comanies to stop roducing new toys and games evry year in case there are people who can't afford them? If parents are in that much dire strits that hey an't afford to buy their kid one football shirt a year, I'd suggest their problems run a lot deeper.

OK cost of shirts and whether people can afford them to one side. What about my second point over why they didn't have time to design a shirt even though TF knew ages ago that we were going to have Nike as our shirt sponsor with his teasing tweets and then the official announcement months later??? And also that none of the shirts have HOOPS?

OK, we have to live with these kits for next season for reasons explained. Unfortunate. However, it would appear likely that fan consultation will determine next year's kits. So it will probably be: Thicker blue and white hoops, Dennis the Menace and all-white for 3rd strip. Those colours are QPR, nothing else is. If they have a new badge, Nike tick, PL badges and (personal choice) no collar, it'll be worth the wait!

Now all we need is the players to wear them and keep us in the prem. Bigger fish to fry at the moment I reckon.

We don't seem very lucky in the thin hoops in recent years We had thin hoops in 2000-01 season Relegated to the old league 2 2001-02 mid table consolidation in league 2 while Brentford finished 3rd 2011=12 Stayed up by the skin of our teeth in the Prem 2012=13 Relegation from the Prem Normal Hoops with red trim 2010-11 Champions 2013=14 Normal Hoops with red trim = Winning at Wembley Promotion and the greatest day I've had in 27 years

Well, it was only when te dea was completed that they could have started any shirt design and that didn't happen until fairly recently and, if fan consulation is the way that they want to go, that I imagine would take some time and it would have been unlikely to complete the whole process this quickly. That said, I don't know why TF een mentioned it given the aforementioned contractual obligations so your guess is as good as mine.

my god. Seriously QPR and the men at the top are still running the club as a little club. We have 3 months to go till the start of the new season but they admittedly choose a economy nike range of shirts and released them as QPR ... really - such poor vision..
also some good comments on this thread
