What we don't know is if he agreed a cut in salary for first team football....given the amount of clubs who seem to have kicked the tyres and walked away I suspect not.

Yes we are, just not directly to him.
On a related note, Dellatorre will never play for the first team.

Yes we are, just not directly to him. On a related note, Dellatorre will never play for the first team. I'm taking it as read that Julio Cesar is a very decent goalkeeper. Major teams, international, good displays whenever we've seen him turn out. I am presuming that QPR were happy to see him move to another club and didn't put any major restrictions on a possible move (sell on clauses etc.). It was reported that he was at one time (maybe still is) Brazil's no.1 choice for the World Cup so he had an incentive to move on for regular football. Given all that, the only reason I can think of for Cesar not being transferred is his own personal greed by refusing to take a pay cut. This has been the subject of a thread before I know but it does seem mystifying that he is actually that greedy and presumably remains so. It's not like the Rob Hulse situation who was a useless footballer, no one else would have him so why not stay on his 000's a week for nothing at QPR. Perhaps I'm missing something! Can you enlarge on the Dellatore bit Mark?

Seems like $36500 is the minimum. When you look through the list and see some on $6000000 it would make you want to up your game a bit I expect. Too much like linking effort and capability to reward for it to be taken up over here. That would sort out the gutless wasters.

Of course they have things like wages caps for clubs (in all American sports I believe - in totals)
Since I doubt Cesar went from 60,000? Pounds to 3,000 a week...Someone's presumablypaying someone
