I'd agree that signing Barton was the worst individual moment, but the point where I finally came to terms with the fact that there was no escape in this lifetime may be the worst.

Wasn't at THE game of course but surely that May 1976 evening hearing that Liverpool had stolen our title. Knew that would never come so close again...Hearbreaking
That would be followed by Relegation back to Div 3 and going into Administration

West Brom at home earlier that same season. That was the match where we realized the game was up, a bit of violence too.

The thing about 76 for me was that I was upset but never occurred to me that we would never win it
At the time I was 14 and seeing as we were the classiest team by far I thought we would win it the following year and given our progress over the preceding years I thought it a given that we would win it sooner or later
The optimism of youth I suppose
0-5 at Preston was very bad. Not just the result but the supporters at the players and francis and kicking off between themselves. Terrible day
I was in Oregon in 86 so the milk cup didn't impact as much as it would have done otherwise.
Going into administration probably took the biscuit fore though

Recently, loosing 6-0 to Chelsc*m. Which was offset by beating them twice (once at the Bridge) as well.

I agree with Maude in part about the play off final except that I'd say it was every minute after they scored until today that I hate about it...up until then it had been a great day out and I saw almost every QPR friend I knew that day.
The day Paulo Sousa was sacked (just a horrible day in our history)

There have been many, some already mentioned.
West Brom 68-69, Bolton 69-70, Ipswich 78-79 & the other tonkings we have taken at the Bush. Wembeley 86 & May 1976 when we wern't playing. Chuck in administration as well.
BUT none of them compare to Easter saturday 1976. Every kick of that game is still imprinted in my memory & I still mourn that loss every day!

We were riding high....top of the Championship table, points clear. We are away at Sc**thope who are rock bottom. I travel to Huddersfield, pick up my Leeds supporting son-in-law and take him to see the magnificent Hoops and the dazzling Taarabt thrash Sc**thope. We got hammered 4 nil. Oh the shame!

Of my 6 seasons as a Ranger, I would say the Faurlin saga before we got promoted. I had trouble sleeping for days, too scared the FA would take our promotion away...
This and losing 6-1 to Chelsea, as this meant we would have to hope a very bad run from Bolton or winning at City to stay up, which I was sure wouldnt happen.

I wasn't there. But the end of season 3-2 defeat against Man City still bugs me. I know we didn't suffer because of it and we were expected to lose. But losing like we did and having it replayed over and over again and having it voted one of the best Premier game ever. Pisses me off.

The milk cup final was also a killer for me. The thing that made the day so bad was the fact that I expected us to win. To play as crap as we did that day really hurt. I sat in a cafe at Kings Cross for over an hour on my own after the game because I did not want to go home. Was really upset.

When i first started going in the 78/79 season with my pa we got relegated, not a good start, 86 league cup final was a shocker, Gerry Francis leaving for spurs pissed me off no end, first relegation from the prem was a heart breaker, then relegation again, administration, losing to Cardiff, Vauxhall motors(was it before or after Cardiff?) still the shame losing to a car manufacturer, but my second worst moment was like mark Tel leaving, still when i see him i think come back Tel we have unfinished business, my number 1 worst moment is that unfinished business i want Tel to come back and finish is to win us the FA cup, i'm still getting over the 82 replay 32 years later. to see us lift the cup and erase that memory would be sweet for me.

First home loss where I was at the game - Burnley 0-2 in the League Cup when we were holders. Could not believe we could get beat at home - but we were 2nd Division at the time and they were 1st. Ralph Coates controlled game if I remember correctly. The West Brom defeat, I think it was around Xmas time, the following season was mentioned in an earlier thread. It was 0-4 and I think it was Ron Springetts last game. He had a stinker and was laughted off the pitch. Easter 76 at Carrow Road as was previously mentioned - I was physically sick on the A11 on the way home. I think it was due to a wam chandy before the game although my father insisted it was the result. As mentioned the Milk Cup final in '86 after such a high coming back from the Liverpool semi. The year we got promoted with Ollie we reached the semi's of the Johnson micky mouse cup at Southend. Southend were rock bottom having just lost to Scarborough in the FA Cup. Took the wife and mentioned we could be going to Wembley. We played a full strength team and got stuffed 4-0. I always remember their mascot waving us good-bye as the fans left before the final whistle.

Pisses me off. know what you mean, but funnily it could go down as a highlight for me. up there with best team performance i have seen away from home, best away day i've been on, most rollercoaster of emotions i've ever experienced, biggest QPR pantomime villain, fairy tale goal from a boy who went from rags to riches, closest i have ever felt to fellow QPR supporters, watching a set of opposition supporters go from hysterical tears to hysterical elation, not caring we threw it away at the time. you couldnt make it up.
