First meeting between the two sides. FA Cup 3rd Round. 20th February ,1915 Played at Stamford Bridge QPR 1-2 Everton The Chelsea ground, use by arrangement, was rather heavy, but with the weather dull the conditions were favourable for the only tie in London, and 33,000 people assembled. The Rangers showed great dash, and after each side had been dangerous a free kick led to an attack, Miller shooting just over the bar. For foolish and deliberate “hands” a penalty was given against the Rangers, Parker hitting the post, the Rangers thus escaping from a perilous situation. Everton forced a corner, and Galt head through, the visitors taking the lead in 15 minutes. Clever passing promised another goal, but MacLeod kicked out. Thompson raced away, shooting behind, an attempt by Donald hit the top of the post, whilst MacLeod fisted a dropping centre by Chedgzoy. Then Fern saved a long shot by Simonds and Galt, in clearing from a corner, struck the underneath of the bar, the referee disallowing the goal. The Rangers playing hard, were unlucky. Half-time - Rangers none. Everton one. Final- Queen’s Park Rangers 1. Everton 2.
