Ian
Can we have the program from The Den 1973?
Promotion gained & thank you very much Mr. Givens for making gestures to the Millwall crowd.
That really made it safe for us leaving the ground.
It was a long, very scray walk back to New Cross Gate!

Thanks Ian.
Phil Parkes scored a ten! I doubt if you gave that mark many times.
Memory tells me we had two attacks in the whole game.

It was more like a walk in the park. Jurassic fu(king Park! Every time I walk out of Millwall I expect to see a little chavy sitting there in a Burberry cap playing a banjo!

Just tweeted to me by RichardQPR (I imagine Bushman has it in his archives. Still nice of the guy to send it to me. I see 3 names in our team straight away - Gregory, Sibley and Stock (Lt. Stock). I know Alec Stock guested for various teams during the war (why do I always think of Only Fools and Horses just there) so is it him, he was playing for us anyway when the war started. Gregory would have been 18 - 19? Was it him or his dad or just a coincidental namesake and then there's Sibley, was that his dad? There may be others in the team I am unaware of that are connected and I misread Abel for Adel to start with. If they are connected it's a window on how the game has changed over the years with family ties carrying through the years.

If they are connected it's a window on how the game has changed over the years with family ties carrying through the years. Ernie Gregory & Albert "Joe" Sibley were not related to John Gregory and Frank Sibley. Ernie Gregory was the great West Ham Goalkeeper who was a guest player for us during the war. Ernie passed away at the age of 90 in Jan 2012. Phil Parkes said, "He was a legend, pure and simple. I don’t think we will ever see his like again. He was a one-club man, a player, a coach, a manager and he has to be the greatest servant that West Ham ever had. Albert "Joe" Sibley played for Southend Utd and Newcastle Utd. He was a guest player for Fulham, Spurs, Aldershot, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Millwall, and QPR, during the war. Albert passed away at his home in Southend in February 2008 at the age of 86. Yes it is was the same Alec Stock. Alec Stock was a guest player for QPR in that one and only game for Rangers that season.

Can't see us getting bullied there this time.

Here's another...Mid week Div 3 South league match at Loftus Rd Circa Sept 1957.
R's win 3-0 and Leslie Locke scores a Hat Trick...Showing my age I know but I was there and my first time in that old Ellerslie Rd wooden Stand.
