R'S LAUNCH YOUTH ACADEMY
RANGERS have launched their Youth Academy under the Football Association's Academy and Excellence programme.
Clubs had to satisfy the FA’s Charter For Quality that they have sufficient facilities for the high standard management
of youth development on both the footballing and educational fronts to obtain the necessary Academy licence.
FA technical director Howard Wilkinson explains:"The purpose of the Football Association Programme for Excellence is to
identify players of outstanding ability and place them in a technical and educational programme designed to produce football excellence
Every player who registers with QPR between the ages of 8 and 21 will fall under the jurisdiction of the Academy’s technical
guidelines and will follow a development programme drawn up by the F.A.
The two year YTS programme for 16 year olds is replaced by a three year Scholarship Programme, which incorporates requirements
for both education and coaching.
The under-11 to under-15 teams will play on Sunday mornings. The under -17’s (managed by Gary Waddock) and the under-19’s
(managed by Warren Neill) will play on Saturday mornings in the inaugural FA Premier Youth League, which is exclusively for Academy c

spent the last few months putting in place top quality staff throughout every aspect of the academy in order to ensure that the
