Qpr have made official bid for Charlie Austin, one problem Forest are in the mix as well, probably lose out again, still.as I said in a previous thread I can still see a thirty four year old winging his way from the Britannia to Loftus Rd as good old Harry likes to say he would be triffic if we could get him

I can see a 32 year old coming from the Britannia stadium and doing a job for us. Indeed, we shouldn't knock the over 30s so readily. I seem to remember a 39 year old not doing to badly for a certain South London team last season.

If Austin has already failed a medical for having a dodgy knee that another club thought serious enough to halt the transfer, how wise is it that we should step in their place with that knowledge? There's obviously a risk assessment over what circumstance the knee would break down in normal play and they're happy with that risk (as are Forest). It just seems though that with Zamora and Johnson already extremely fragile and Remy seemingly off to Newcastle that the forward options don't look very robust. Given QPR's recent dalliance with 'sods law' it could be that come September we have no forwards, except maybe Crouch. An uncomfortable feeling! Or have I missed something?

I'm gonna have a whinge now. Hooper was never going to come here. We have been interested in Austin for a while now. Why are we only just putting in a bid for him now. Why don't we try and get in early instead of wasting time and losing out?

Why don't we try and get in early instead of wasting time and losing out? Good point, but this time it might work to our advantage. Premier League sides have lost interest due to his medical failure, so he should be more affordable.

It can be done. Getting a decent striker in. Look at Celtic, the day after Hoopers money was banked they bought Roegitter or whatever his name is totally unannounced. In, done and dusted. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and find we had signed anybody quite honestly as long as it was someone who came in under the radar. It would continue to feed my irrational delusional annual belief that big things are on the way

2.8 million offered for him to be paid in installments ,think that is a good idea if he does break down we have a get out clause ,anyway forest are willing to do the same and are watching the situation ,knowing our luck we will probably feck up again ,I would like him to come as I think he is a better striker than hooper and get this he is younger ! Urrrrrrrrrs

Have Hull made a mistake in setting the risk too high or are we just a little more lax? If Kieron Dyer can pass a QPR medical then Austin will pass with flying colours.... I don't think we will have any problems with his knee, think it's more precautionary like Demba Ba's knee problem.
