I only wish for a one off payment, not a weekly one. I've scored more than SWP could dream of. (Thinks back to his 32 goals in one season as a 19 year old). Do I have to wear a Chicken mask?

QPR, Swansea, Reading & Norwich all off to the United Arab Emirates Sport 360 Premier League clubs head to UAE for winter break Feb 10, 2013 15 Time to recharge: Swansea will use the break to prepare for the Cup final. English Premier League clubs are the latest to descend on the UAE as Swansea City, Reading, Norwich City, and Queens Park Rangers take advantage of the warmer winter climate to enjoy some respite from the colder conditions of the British Isles. Last month, a swathe of Bundesliga clubs, including Hamburg, Frankfurt, and Gladbach flew over to the UAE for some warm-weather training and friendly matches, while a host of national teams set up base here ahead of the African Cup of Nations. And now is the turn of the Premier League to jet over for a sunny break ahead of the intensity of the season run-in. Swansea arrive in the Emirates off the back of an impressive league victory over Queens Park Rangers and will use their warm-weather training camp as a chance to prepare for their Capital One Cup final against Bradford City on February 24. The Swans, currently seventh in the Premier League table, will be setting up camp in Dubai and a couple of their players took to social media ahead of their arrival. Winger Nathan Dyer wrote on Twitter: âOFF TO DUBAI!!âwhile on-loan midfielder Jonathan De Guzman posted a picture on his Facebook page of the players on the plane. In stark contrast to Swanseaâs fortunes this season, Norwich, Reading and QPR will hope to use their respective breaks in the Emirates as a chance to re-energise ahead of what is sure to be a tense, nail-biting relegation battle. QPR remain mired to the bottom of the table, seven points clear of safety, and manager Harry Redknapp will want his players to take the break in Dubai to refocus before giving their all to retain their Premier League status. Reading, who will also be based in Dubai, are not faring much better than QPR this season. However, Brian McDermottâs squad is just one point away from safety and a run of positive results could see them climb out of the basement. One of Readingâs players â defender Sean Morrison â expressed his delight at spending a few days in the sunshine when he tweeted: âAnnnnnnnnnd we're off! ... Dubai bound.â While the Swansea, Reading and QPR set up camp in Dubai, Norwich have opted for the slightly less hectic setting of Abu Dhabi. Chris Hughton has decided to take his players to the UAE capital and while they are currently six points above the drop zone, the Canaries will use the trip to Abu Dhabi to recharge before expending their efforts in the last few months of the season to ensure their top-flight safety. Finally, West Ham manager Sam Allardyce will also be in the UAE over the next few days and will be residing in Dubai. 'Big Sam' will be the star attraction at 'An evening with' on Wednesday, February 13 at the Movenpick Hotel on JBR. Entrance is free with the Hammers boss regaling his experiences in football from 9pm onwards. www.sport360.com/football/premier-league-clubs-head-uae-winter-break

Dubai is, of course, best known for the heart-wrenching story of the seven stone weakling... Never a day would go past without the bigger kids kicking sand in his face. But now he's seventeen stone! .. .. He swallowed ten stone of sand...

Now on the Official Site...Off this afternoon (Not sure who from the non-playing staff are going.) QPR Official Site DUBAI BOUND PUBLISHED 10:16 12th February 2013 by @officialqpr Squad travel to UAE for warm-weather training ... This is an opportunity to get out and train on some good surfaces" Harry Redknapp HARRY Redknapp and the QPR squad travel to Dubai this afternoon as the Râs manager takes advantage of the break in fixtures to put his players through their paces in the United Arab Emirates. A number of Premier League clubs are doing likewise and, with QPRâs next game being against Manchester United on Saturday week, Redknapp believes this provides an ideal opportunity for the squad to spend some time together and make use of better playing surfaces. âI think there are six teams going to Dubai this week, everyone is getting away to do a bit of training,â Redknapp told www.qpr.co.uk. With another cold snap hitting the UK, Redknapp explained why getting out of the country will be useful for his squad. âOur training ground at Harlington is not the best, to say the least,â he said. âWhen it rains, the pitch floods. When it snows, we canât get on it. Weâve got no undersoil heating. So this is an opportunity to get out and train on some good surfaces. âThis will provide a good break. We need to get away to train on a decent surface for a few days.â QPR

Harry quote, "Our training ground at Harlington is not the best to say the least," he said. "When it rains, the pitch floods. When it snows, we can,t get in. We,ve no undersoil heating. Sothis is a oppurnity to get out and train on a good surface."
Harry should remember the old saying, "a tradesman never blames his tools.". However in this case he has every reason to blame his TOOLS.

Just proves what I've been saying these past few months. Tony F and his cronies have no idea how to properly manage a football club. Perks are supposed to come to those who perform well. Not so at our club. The worse you perform at QPR, the more you are rewarded! Reminds me of those local councils who send teenage criminals on taxpayer funded safaris in Africa for "rehabilitation". Only for them to come back home and commit another crime...no doubt in anticipation of yet another taxpayer funded holiday abroad! I've come to the conclusion that the only way for us to move forward is via new ownership.

I am sure the players would rather be with their families. They could go off to Dubai or anywhere else during their own time at their own cost without any concern on price.

Hogan - I agree that the players can all afford to go to Dubai whenever they wish. ÂŁ60,000/week allows them to do a lot of nice things! My post was critical of the management decision to take them to Dubai. Training or not, they are still going to have a very enjoyable time there. Yet again, a bad management decision from Tony F and his board. It smacks of perks being given to employees who have performed poorly.

I would disagree. In Dubai they are with the club, there as part of the group and there to train and work. Sure they will do some fun things but they would do whatever they wanted if they were back in England. I hope they spend so much time together that they all realise that they are all in this together and each and everyone of them has to give it absolutely everything when called upon, aswell as spending time on the training pitch working on attacking patterns, set pieces etc etc.

I don't feel particularly strong about it either way. I strongly doubt that Redknapp et al view it as a vacation (which doesnt mean they have to work non-stop)....
If it gives us a chance of training go ahead...(I guess they couldnt rent any indoor or heated grounds in England!)
