The players are off to Dubai for some warm weather training this week.
Will we be playing Man U on a balmy afternoon with temperatures climbing into the 30's? More likely it'll be a rain lashed afternoon.
Still we only lost 4-1 yesterday so no doubt the rose tinted world that our Tone lives in will see this as an improvement that deserves a little holiday.
After the performance yesterday, where I'm not sure anyone came out with any credit they should be back at Harlington not jetting off on a meaningless bonding session in the sun.

Thanks And Express has in its headline Swansea 4 - QPR 1: Harry Redknapp sunk by the three amigos SWANSEA are off for some sunshine in Dubai this week. So, too, Queens Park Rangers. By: Harry PrattPublished: Sun, February 10, 2013 0Comments Swansea-s-Michu-is-congratulated-by-Jonathan-De-Guzman Swansea's Michu is congratulated by Jonathan De Guzman But while the Wembley-bound Welsh club deserve a holiday, the same most certainly cannot be said of Harry Redknapp’s rock-bottom outfit. After this inept display, the expensively assembled Londoners might as well make it a one-way ticket. Still six points adrift from safety after this 13th loss of a shambolic season, the only thing left for Harry’s Hoops between now and May is to say a long goodbye to the top flight. It was an excellent performance and it was good to score four goals and for Michu to get two of them. Swansea boss Michael Laudrup Sure, their manager, famous for lifting doom and gloom at troubled clubs, stubbornly refuses to concede defeat in the relegation fight. There are, after all, 36 points to play for. Yet deep down Redknapp must realise QPR’s fate is sealed and they are heading for the drop. What a contrasting picture for Swansea who picked up their first victory in four games at a canter – thanks to a sizzling record-breaking Spanish quadruple of goals. Top scorer Michu was back on the scoresheet with a double and in between were efforts from Angel Rangel and Pablo Hernandez. That was the first time in Premier League history three Spaniards have scored for the same team in the same game. That might be good for a pub quiz, but the sight of Michu hitting the back of the net after a six-game drought was the most significant stat for the Capital One Cup finalists. While he had gone off the boil, so too had the Swans – going three games without a goal. Boss Michael Laudrup said: “It was an excellent performance and it was good to score four goals and for Michu to get two of them. “He hadn’t scored for a while but that happens to all strikers and, remember, he’s not just a goalscorer because he does so much work in other areas for the team.” Bargain buy of the season – at £2million – he may be, but no way did Michu mean to beat Julio Cesar the way he did after nine minutes. When Nathan Dyer’s shot was only parried by QPR’s Brazilian stopper, Michu seemed certain to score – until he sliced his effort from four yards. Michu definitely thought it was going wide yet somehow he had miscued perfectly as it flew over Cesar and spun inside the post. Swansea’s second seven minutes later was lucky too. Wayne Routledge, arguably the most improved Premier League star of 2012-13, sliced the Hoops defence in two, finding the overlapping Rangel. The Spanish defender’s first effort was blocked by Cesar only for the rebound to fall perfectly for him and he slotted home. After a Redknapp half-time rollicking and the introduction of half-fit Bobby Zamora, QPR scored in the 48th minute – with their first attempt of the afternoon. Adel Taarabt was the creator, slipping in Zamora, who, bad hip or not, demonstrated he can still finish by drilling in hard and low. Two minutes later Hernandez waltzed through QPR’s defence and fired home. The look of disgust on Redknapp’s face said everything. Even £13.5m buy Christopher Samba appeared a total waste of money – especially in the 67th minute as Michu left him for dead and hammered in his 15th league goal. Still Redknapp refused to put the boot into his flops. He said: “It’s still very tight down the bottom and we’ve still got a chance. But I thought we gave away bad, sloppy goals. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/376686/Swansea-4-QPR-1-Harry-Redknapp-sunk-by-the-three-amigos

You do like to roll out the favourites Mr Canada, don't you. No problem with them going away but fail to see how that sort of heat can benfit training. Good idea to get the players away in a group. Get them all together for a few days or more of work, training, coaching, talking, drinking, fighting, get it all out. Clearly the daily Harlington routine is not working well enough, change is as good as a rest.

Oh, they are so deserving of a nice trip abroad in the light of all their hard work!!!! Being paid vast sums of money and getting a holiday compliments of the supporters who pay good cash for their season tickets, club merchandise and membership. Here am I having a look at whether I can afford to take my wife away for a few days as she recovers from a major illness and surgery and these overpaid mercenaries are sunning themselves at our expense. OK guys, now you can slag me off for those comments.

If the boys will play better and win after going to Dubai, I'm all in favor. Hell, if them all coming to Perth to stay for a few days, I'm sure blue and I would do it.
What I'm saying is don't knock it unless you know what it will achieve. The old crew, the summer imports and the Jan window mob need to bond and work as a team, we all know that. Maybe a few days in Dubai will help. God I hope so!!

F***ing unbelievable you play absolute shit and you get rewarded with a trip to the sun, stunning what the F*** is going on we don't need training camps we need to play matches especially the likes of Zamora, grainy is well and good but it does not get you match fit also it was noticeable yesterday samba is lacking match fitness, anyway after such a shambles knowing rangers it is possible we will beat man utd ,nothing is ever straight forward with us.

Gramps I agree with you, as someone who brought 3 season tickets this year and for the most have been subjected to watching crap then I really agree with you! I actually hope we go down, rebuild and come back and do it like Norwich and Swansea have. Staying up as last season has proved has actually done more harm than good ?

Dear Mr Fernandez, Recently, my wife and I took custody of two of our grandchildren. Being in our 50's makes it a little harder than normal. I work hard and often do 16 hour shifts to help pay for everything. My wife works 24/7/365 in bring up the children. We do have some debt as a result, we need a new card and need to find a 3 bedroom place to live ASAP. If you can't afford to help us, can you at least spring the four of us a 2 week holiday in Dubai so that we can recover? I'm sure the performances we have had to put in as well as dealing with the courts as worthy an effort as that of the team against Swansea. I don't use twitter so you can message me here or get Phil to send me an e-mail. I look forward to your reply. (50k euros should clear the debts and get a decent car and a bond for a decent 3 bedroom rental)
