Funny to watch but an absolute disgrace. Typical of a Chelsea player. They really do think they can get away with anything. And who jumped off the bench to give his opinion, only JT himself!!

Chelsea FC @chelseafc Has football gone mad? Hazard is sent off for kicking the ball under a ball boy attempting to smother the ball rather than return it. #CFC

do you not like the Welsh Maude just dont see the point of hating for the sake of hating. its clear that a ball boy delibretly covered the ball and hazard was trying to kick it from under him, now this is quite obvious to all. cos its chelsea. were just grabbing at anything now. i'm fed up of the chelsea obsession.

Henry Winter @henrywinter #swansfc: #cfc asked for ball-boy to come to dressing-room, kit-lady took him there, Lampard/Terry welcomed him, shook hands with Hazard

Maude's got a point. It was definitely ill-advised of Hazard to do it but from this angle it does not look as bad.
Ball boy was being very unsporting, I'd be ashamed if he was one of ours

Just a basic fact of life. If you play for Manchester United, you get to play 95 or more minutes a game. When you put on a Chelsea shirt, you become at that instant, (at least) 25% more scummy

I agree with Maude. The player kicked the ball. Also the boy ought to get an award for his convincing performance at feigning injury. Shows that the papers in England have got nothing better to do, as many have this "story" as front page news.

1] Forget that it was Chelsea, the ball boy in the 85th minute of a cup semi final tried to time waste for his team by laying on the ball. He got what he deserved and frankly he too, should have been given a red card.
2] The player was wrong in what he did and rightly got a card.
3] The Ball boy should have been also given a yellow card for bad acting. Be honest, the kick wasn't that hard.

It doesn't matter what the lad did or didn't do to hide the ball or if he was acting bad. It doesn't even matter much where the kick hit, the point is he kicked a child.
That should be enough said, if the child was stupid has nothing to do with the action of the player (or anyone else kicking children, holding onto balls or not).

Incident was reported on BBC News this morning. Pat Nevin was being interviewed by the BBC sports presenter and pointed out that they were only showing the incident from one angle, which happened to be the worse/most sensational angle. Nevin pointed out that most other clips showed the incident in a different light and asked BBC to show the other clips (for balance). The sports presenter acted like a politician and avoided the remark. Nevin put it to him a couple of times more but we didnt get to see it. BBC just kept rolling the same clip - childish. Nevin wasnt defending Hazard, just wanted the report to be balanced.

Maude's got a point. It was definitely ill-advised of Hazard to do it but from this angle it does not look as bad. Ball boy was being very unsporting, I'd be ashamed if he was one of ours The ballboy didn't do anything wrong and he wasn't wasting time at all... Just as he reaches the ball, Hazard aggressively grabs hims, shoves him and then expects what - that the ballboy will act nicely and surrender the ball like a dog, because that's exactly how Hazard has treated him(?) How would you feel if somebody grabbed you this offensively while you were trying to do your job? I'm under no illusion that that teen's intention was wasting a few seconds - just because he's a silly cheeky teen... but he didn't even had the chance to do that - Hazard approached him with so much unreasonable anger, like, I'll repeat, he was trying to chase away a stray dog. I understand Hazard was frustrated with the result and maybe he only kicked that kid in the heat of the moment which he (I hope, slightly) regrets, but to vent his frustration onto someone so harmless like a ballboy is pretty fking low. Can I suggest kicking Ashley Williams next time?

An interesting point on the BBC Breakfast show about the ball boy "acting" and milking the injury situation. Where did he learn to act like that? Perhaps from watching footballers on the pitch?
