I used to have the book but at some time over the years i've managed to misplace (lost) it!
This article was a really fascinating read as was ,from memory, the whole of the book. I doubt that a managers day to day role has changed too much from then but probably the relationship with the club chairman was a lot closer .
I know West Ham used to play midweek matches on a Monday but was surprised to read that Arsenal were playing on that day.

I too once had a copy of Alec Stock Football Club Manager...but lost the book sometime in the mid 1970's when I moved house.
It was a very interesting read and was I think serialised in one of the national sunday newspapers when it first came out.
