The messageboard recently has seen some pretty strong opinions on the performance of TF. We seem as a messageboard pretty split. I think we all thank him for saving us from the ridiculous Italian but then again we have questioned his abilities and basic football common sense.
TF has fingers in many commercial pies, is often out of the country and therefore surely the critism of management should really be targeted towards Phil Beard. He is the CEO and this as far as I know, this is his only job.
He has no football experience (and that was a TF error) and has just employed another one of his ex O2 mates to work form him. I think that makes it 3 now.
Although he has been quieter of late (well who wants to see a picture of him with another failure? when we had our 'marquee' signings of the horrible Barton who was there with the player having his photo taken? Who was delighted that SWP was joining and yes there was the photo of him and SWP signing the contract.
This list could go on and on.
Beard appears to be an operator of entertainment venues (and we know that Loftus Road isn't one of them!) and has surrounded himself with equally non football managers. The comments about the 45,000 stadia could only have been made by someone that knew little about QPR and even less about football.
Surely as CEO he has been responsible once a player has been identified for the contract and sorting out the financial aspect of deals?I would therefore like to hear why he felt the necessity to make the commission payable to Agents the highest of any Cluib in the Premier League?
It appears from what we can only guess from comments made by Barton that many players have come here only for the money. All players will come for the money but it seems we not only pay hugely above the going rate for the standard of player that we have been signing but then compound the problem by making the contracts excessive and long.
Our Club has made huge mistakes in the past and seems to continue to be making them. TF has bitten the bullet with both Warnock and Hughes but we still have a Club that will be run by the desires of the manager in charge.
Harry will no doubt run rings around Beard. One because he is Harry and two because Harry will know that he doesn't have a clue.
Whilst the performances on the pitch have lead to this ridiculously appalling start to the season, the time has come for TF to bring in someone that knows about football and has the experience of dealing with managers/agents/players and can bring some everyday reality and common sense to Loftus Road.
I hope it is not too late and the contracts that we can only guess at if we do get relegated don't send us into a spiral where the final outcome will be buckets outside Loftus Road for supporters again to shell out bad management.
If you have anything about you Mr Beard then resign and don't let your kindergarden football experience mean the demise of our great Club.
