Tony Fernandes in Response to a tweet (which he retweets) RT @timnmcollins: jeffro_QPR @tonyfernandes @lieyam_M Maybe you can practice the "You're fired" line on Mark Hughes? #QPR Fernandes: "Won't be happening. For the one millionth time. Hahaha. Stability. "

Although it is very admirable for him to want stability at our club, it is about time he came to the realization that Hughes just isn't the man for the job.......

Meh.
I just want us to win on Saturday to be honest with you.
If he keeps Hughes or not I really don't care anymore. I'd rather we get 3pts, take our lumps at Old Trafford and then pick ourselves back up after that with a few more wins against Sunderland, Villa and Wigan. Right now the only thing I care about is us getting 3 points on Saturday.
And I'd gladly keep Hughes if a win tomorrow means we go on a nice run in the next month, get out the RZ and drag some more of the teams above us now back into it.
Heard some fans on other sites wanting us to lose so Hughes gets sacked. Don't follow that at all. Just want 3 points on Saturday. Everything else is secondary. We cannot afford to let Southampton go 4 points clear of us no matter how badly anyone may want Hughes out.
Just win, baby. As the late Al Davis famously said.

Asides from all the wider issues of stability and (justified) negativity, it would just be nice from the point of view of a supporter to leave Loftus Road happy with a win under our belts and an enjoyable 90 minutes of football. Nervous about tomorrow, part of me thinks we'll stuff them, part of me thinks we'll roll over and die. Either way, I miss that winning feeling.

I have also seen those threads about some fans hoping for a loss today and I don't get that either. That said I don't gte some of TF'sd commenst either - either he is playing his cards close to his chest, he has a totally different view of the situation behiond the scenes or he really doesn't have a clue. I hope it is for the 2 former reasons and not the latter one.

Maybe TF thinks he's right, so he's sticking by his guns. Or maybe he's backed himself into a corner.
Usually Chairmen back the manager. But they usually remember to say that he must win, of course - so it's win-win for them. If he delivers, they were right to back him. If he doesn't, he hands them a good enough reason to get rid of him, often with general agreement in the press and among the Club's support where results and performances are poor.
The trick is for the Board to identify with the best interests of the Club, however insincerely. It is easy to represent winning as good, losing as bad.
And requires no special skill, know-how or talent. So the Chairman's reputation is protected from his own shortcomings - and from the unknown, which is always a major factor in football.
While TF seems to be closing the escape hatch and hazarding his.
If he sacks him, will his regime's other claims to special expertise or knowledge be credible? That enormous stadium. I wonder how many people believe in that. And I wonder whether the people who do include TF, Beard, Bhatia and the rest.
If he doesn't, will his own judgement be called into question? He shouldn;t have a reputation for judgement anyway, since he hasn't demonstrated any, but that is a perennial fault of regimes of this kind.
They insist on selling us their credentials on the basis of hype, rather than achievement.
If his achievements in football had been solid, and lasting, and beneficial, if he had paid his dues, learned the game, and mastered its intricacies and vagaries, he'd get credit for that.
But he doesn't have any. So we're left wondering whether to believe him at all.
Sacking the manager solves all that in the short term. A new manager comes, new hope, new speculation about how someone we never thought was much good before he came here but now believe he is just the man for the job.
It buys the regime time. Though, admittedly, not very much, because the quick fix mentality usually leads to more bad results, more calls for change, and more 'instability'.
So you're right ;D saphilip. TF's laughing if Hughes stays and performs brilliantly. Provided, I suppose, that he begins to do so pretty soon.
Then TF is the visionary, the man who stood firm and was proved right.
If it wasn't QPR, it might be quite fun to see how soon Hughes would come good, how long TF would wait, and how many supporters we had in five years, either
(a) at the New QPR 45,000 capacity Asia retail park after 5 years of success under Hughes
(b) after 5 years of TF waiting for Hughes to manage his first win.

Tweet from Tony -
I feel gutted. I have put my heart and soul into this with my other shareholders. And done all we can to give support to players and all management. I can only apologise to the QPR fans. we keep fighting.
Not exactly sure what's that supposed to mean....

That TF tweet is a major shift in tone. It's pretty obvious that today was the end of the Hughes era. I'd be amazed if he is in charge against Villa.
Southampton outclassed us. At least Mackie and Derry had the decency to applaud the fans at the end, and Taarbs gave all as usual. But we've fallen apart. This was an utter disaster of epic proportions. Fair play to Soton, they were up for it. We weren't.

Have done on another thread so won't go over-kill!!!..........Actually I will - Well, yeah, but even on Twitter, even on a saturday night (I've just finished a boozy quiz...) one can find better arguments and wording than "hahaha, stability, la la la"... The club is clearly trapped in some kind of draconian Wallstreet contract and/or the owners understand that it's better going down with Hughes than with somebody else. Because recovering now is impossible (so - why the new manager?). Tony has heart, but he has no balls. Firing Warnock was easy, but Hughes - he has no balls for that.

I hope you are wrong sabas, but I fear you are right...I can't imagine how low attendances will be by the seasons end...think the new stadium will be on hold again...tonys tweet above to me at least doens't read anything like a sign that he's thinking of doing the right thing and sacking hughes...like sabas says we're so screwed now is it worth the huge payoff or does he just cut his losses and go down with the sinking ship. Hope he replies to you elmer, that is the one thing I'd like reassurance on too...

Of course he's lost, shocked, puzzled... but instead of thinking quietly he goes on Twitter and doesn't make it easier for any of us.
If he won't sack Hughes - OK, maybe I can accept that - IF my chairman gives me a good reason and argument; like, if I do - we're screwed financially. Now he just gives us "stability" which is pretty much "hahaha".
I don't believe we can climb out of this, but to give "what are you talking about, we're brilliant?!" is a fking disappointing populism.
