....after our poor start to the season and all these big gaps between home games, i just thought it would be a little better than this!

Feel the same Bowlesy. Still the players will get time to know each other sort out the formations
and get to know who to pass to etc. So we can see some better stuff ahead.

the gap between the Swansea and Chelsea game is far too long why is it if you play the first fixture at home you then have to play the next 2 away, makes no sense

To be honest, I am looking beyond the Chelsea and Spurs matches before we start getting some points. I fully expect us to be bottom going in to October, and hopefully from there we will start to pick up points as we (dear God don't say it!!) gel.

Only one bad result so far against a team we should have beaten.

Our real season starts with our next game when all of our signings can play.

Bowles, tell the truth, it's the lack of Johnson and now he's injured, is it not!

I always feel flat with these bloody international breaks..was the same last year. They just get properly in the way, and as England are total rubbish anyway, mean far less than they used to. Until something changes - the FA, misery guts Stuart Pearce ruining our chances of developing skillful youth players, an England manager who inspires about as much confidence as a paper tent in a forest fire..that sort of thing - I'm just not interested beyond my completely unjustified patriotic hope!!
As for QPR, I'm kind of the opposite! We lost at City. Sure. But we actually could have won!! If Ryan Nelsen put away those two gilt edged chances, then we'd have been 3-1 up! I don't think City really had chances that good the whole game, maybe I've forgotten, but it seemed to me that we defended well and Green did his job when called upon? With the massive exception of the sloppy second goal (I still think Ferdinand was reeling a bit from being decked and seemed to look out of it) which should never have happened, we did ok.
Nothing much you could do about the 3rd, pure luck..just wish we'd had the same luck at the other end with Ryan. Anyway, the point is, I was buoyed by our 2nd half performance - against the league champions no less - and think it's only a matter of time before our pretty awesome looking squad start to properly click. Faurlin looks class already so imagine him when back to match sharpness. Granero was impressive, as was Park etc etc. It's looking good!
Sure, we need points on the board, but I think we have to admit that getting any in September is going to be very difficult. My only worry is that morale may drop, but if Hughes can keep that in check, keep the squad's heads up and feet on the ground and treat the next 2 games as a gelling exercise then we should be set for future fixtures that aren't so tough.
On the other hand, we might surprise ourselves and beat Chelscum! We did it before...somehow?! If we do it again, it'd be nice if it was slightly more convincing!

Feeling a bit flat is ok but we shouldn't get despondent. Yes the performance against Swans was c**p but we gained a point against Nowich and didn't lose badly to Man C...we could even have done better with some luck and accuracy.
I am positive about the Chels game. I think we will get a draw or even better.
I saw the cup game against Walsall and it took some time for Faulin to find his measure but when he did, it was wonderful to see him demand the ball and distribute with aplomp. I spotted 1 pass astray from him all game!!
I think we now have a winning team and as others have said we need a bit of patience for familiarity to emerge. As soon as Sparky gets the back line and the shape of the team right just watch us go.

I'm getting in the mood. I've got my second Scottish nephew coming down from Edinburgh next weekend for the Chelsea game (his brother came down for the same game last year). I bought my tickets for the Reading game yesterday. And am thoroughly looking forward to the West Ham match.
