I have pinched this from dot.org.
A little bit premature but with all the speculation of moving to a new stadium, they have started a thread detailing their first time at Loftus Road.
I thought I would follow suit as on dot.org this is giving me some great memories. So to start the ball rolling.
August 1967 at home to Norwich, first home game in the 2nd division. Stood on the Loft with my brother, cousin & Texas Ranger. We won 2-0 but I rely on Bushman or others to tell me the goalscorers. I would guess at Keen & Ian Morgan but that is only a guess.
Those few square yards of the terrace that we inhabited became home to me!

Thank you Mac, that is brilliant!
The program notes for your first match refer to the Blackburn game. I'm fairly sure that is the match your favourite photo comes from.
The photo of Rodney's back with the caption of "Guess who just did what to whom". But that may have been two years later!

Not that old for me.
QPR v Wolverhampton Wanderers, autumn 2008. Tea-time kick-off in front of 17'000 fans. It had to be one of the first games with Paolo Sousa as manager.
We won 1-0 thanks to a Martin Rowlands wonder goal from outside the box.
I wasn't a R' at the time, and I only came as a football fan. I got lost in Shepherd's Bush with my dad, and by the time we arrived, it was half-time, and the ticket offices were closed. We went to the C-Club reception, and they very kindly sold us a ticket (half-price) for the B-Block.
The following day, I bought a R's Shirt on Carnaby Street.

Jo That is a superb story. The best way to find your club! I remember THAT goal really well. I'm ashamed to say we went to London to watch Arsenal, but I really hated it there, so when I saw the atmosphere and the passion at Loftus Road, my choice was very easy to make. ;D

Always amazed at other people's recollection of this. My first game was sometime between 77-79 I think but not sure which game...definitely saw Stan once or twice...started going more regularly in the early 80s....Allen & Stainrod were heros . First ST in Holloway's first season

Good thread Terry. Must admit I really enjoyed that year in the old second division. Every game seemed like a cup tie moving up from the third to play against the big teams! First game was against Port Vale around 1960 can't remember the exact season although I do remember we won 1-0 and I stood with my Dad and Mum in the corner of the old Loft. Game was a bit dour I think although someone threw a bottle onto the pitch form the South Africa road terraces. Gave me a hint that it was a pretty hostile environment for away teams even 50 years ago:)

Absolutely no idea what my first game was, I guess I've been going since I was big enough to last the 90minutes. I'm lucky in that all my family support the club. My mum's family are from Paddington / Shepherd's Bush and are Rangers going back 3 or 4 generations. My dad grew up on the Cleverly Estate so is a lifelong fan as well, even though his family are originally from south of the river. QPR have just always been there.

My first game was 1973. My Dad supported Spurs and took me to Loftus R to see QPR vs Spurs. QPR won 3-0 and I was hooked. Just a couple of seasons later I had convinced my Dad to buy season tickets and that was that. We had season tickets until I left the country.

Goddard scored 2 in a 2-2 draw.
And thanks to Bushman I have a copy of the program cover from that day framed on my wall!
