Interestin analysis. Just re QPR, his comments strike home/
...There was a lot of talk about Keane taking over at QPR and they have plenty of wealthy benefactors at Loftus Road as well.
But I couldn't see any way that Keane could cope with the egos at play there and I have little doubt that it would have been a disaster if he had chosen QPR.

I'm shocked to see Roy back
I have to admit I'm shocked to see Roy Keane back in football management. Not just that he's come back as Ipswich boss but that he's come back at all.
I honestly believed that Keane would find it difficult to find the motivation and interest needed to throw himself back into the mincer and I believed that his time at Sunderland was a test he set himself -- one that he didn't pass.
For me, he doesn't have that obsessive quality that you need to become a great manager or indeed, even a good manager over the long haul.
Men like Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger have buried their lives so completely in the game that there is nothing else for them to do on a daily basis that makes them happier than managing football players.
But I watched Keane retreat from Sunderland and my first thought was that I would never see him again on a touchline.
It seemed to me that once he had a break from the game as he has been doing for the last three or four months, he would choose to walk away.
Of course for Ipswich Town, this is a fantastic move. They will hope to get the same boost that Sunderland got from Keane when he arrived and that will impact on the club in all sorts of different ways.
EGOS
Season ticket sales will go up and general interest in the club will sky rocket. That's what Keane brings to the party before he even takes a training session.
They have a very wealthy owner and I'm sure that played a major part in Keane's decision to come back so soon -- or at all.

His arrival at Portman Road will stimulate a reaction from the Ipswich squad. It looks like a lot of the current panel are out of contract and that will give Keane plenty of scope for team building.
He has three months now to get it right before the new season gets under way and even if I'm surprised that he has chosen this path, it will still make for another intriguing chapter in Keane's life, which is never less than absorbing.
