Yeah quite right Rory "Arry" was very pally with Warnock and once he was sacked Redknapp turned his nose up at Hughes.
Well that is the sense of feeling I got .

Seeing this everywhere now. The Times reported it yesterday and now Talksport www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/120727/benfica-ready-snap-qpr-defender-177461#kTqHPb5RPOyFkOcg.02Benfica ready to snap up QPR defender By talkSPORT | Friday, July 27, 2012 Benfica are closing in on the signing of QPR defender Armand Traore, according to reports in Portugal. Portuguese newspaper A Bola claims Traore, who only moved to west London last August, will swap Loftus Road for the Estadio da Luz as manager Mark Hughes looks to reshuffle his defensive options. Benfica are reportedly already in talks with QPR over the full-back, who came close to moving to the Portuguese side in 2010 before opting to join Juventus on loan instead. The 22-year-old, who has been capped at senior international level by Senegal, ended his six-year association with Arsenal last summer, having joined the club’s youth academy from Monaco in 2005.

Perhaps the Traore story has substance perhaps not, but for me he is better further upfield than at left back. How much is he worth?

I'd say between £ 1 million and 2 millions. We won't get more than that.

That's how much we paid for him though.

Yeah, and his worth hasn't gone up since we got him I reckon.

For the money we paid for him he would worth keeping, he is our only left back, however if the offer was say £4 or £5 mill that would be good business.

I agree. What I think is that Hughes might see him as a winger more than as a left back, maybe that's why he could let him go with Hoilett arriving. I don't know.
Don't forget we have a lot of versatile players and both Fabio and Onuoha can play as left-back, and so do Hill and Nelsen.
It's also a positive sign we may be about to sign a defender...

Tony Fernandes @tonyfernandes I am not sure where these rumours are coming from. We are building a squad. Not selling. Armard Traorre is a very importanr player to QPR.

I hope this Thread now becomes predominantly about the search for a Centre Back (and probably Captain) with all other rumours just of amusing interest and without foundation as we simply dont need any other new signings this Summer. Although I would be "Adam Johnson" (Bowles) like happy if Thiago from Barcelona becomes available on a Season long loan and comes to Loftus Road !!!

I'm sure I've seen our name mentioned as interested??? Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed to ESPN that his club have lodged a £4 million bid for Real Mallorca centre-back Ivan Ramis. GettyImages Ivan Ramis: Target for Roberto Martinez Latics manager Roberto Martinez added Aberdeen midfielder Fraser Fyvie to his squad last week and hopes to follow that up with the capture of Ramis, who has interested Sunderland, Aston Villa and Swansea. Whelan told ESPN: "We have made a bid in the region of £4 million, and we are waiting to see if it will be accepted." The 27-year-old defender has plenty of experience in La Liga, having played almost 200 games for Mallorca and Valladolid. soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1127370/wigan-confirm-L4-million-bid-for-ivan-ramis?cc=5739

I think we still need at least one, possibly two CM. If Traore goes then another FB is required. Is Harriman considered a good enough back up at RB? Or Dyer maybe? Will we sign another forward or stick with what we've got? However CB is surely the priority.

DJ Campbell could be set for a move to Watford. Reading and several Championship sides have shown some interest in the 30-year-old striker, who has been told he can leave QPR after only one season at Loftus Road. Campbell, who grew up in East Acton and was released by the R’s as a teenager, is keen to continue living in London. He returned to Rangers in a £1.25m transfer from Blackpool last summer but was hampered by injury problems and has made only two league starts for the club. A number of clubs have also considered making an approach for another out-of-favour QPR forward, Rob Hulse, but appear to have cooled their interest. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/watford-leading-chase7-for81-qpr-striker?

Thought his name was martin olsson and his brother was also at blackburn im not sur but he's a leftback so if traore were to go it'd be like for like. Found it quite interesting that benfica wanted Fabio who we got Taiwo who we had and maybe could have signed now traore seems to be a target. Guess with the quality we have now we might have to get used to teams looking at bidding for our players. It'll make a change anyway normaly were waiting for their contracts to expire how times are changing at loftus road
