Steve Kean is expecting Junior Hoilett to join QPR but is unsure if Blackburn will receive an offer for his signature or whether the transfer will go to a tribunal. A tribunal for what crime? This sounds very vague. Can you give us 6 million, or, like, maybe 2? Errm, no.

How did we miss Cahill? Cahill is past is best now. He's had a really difficult season, and he seems slower every time he plays. Zamora is exactly the same kind of player, and IMHO, it would have been a bad idea to pay him 50k/week to be our 4th striker. He's a legend at Everton, and the club wouldn't have let him go if he was still at his best, and for him, it's a way to leave before his form has dropped. I think that with Heidar and Zamora, there's no need for Cahill, really. Even if he was one of my favorite player, and I love his attitude, it's a no-go for me.

Past his best, yeah OK, just like Zamora, Cisse and Johnson. But he's nothing like Zamora. Bobby is a classic holder - a target man for the ball; often playing with his back to the net. Cahill is an interesting mix of a poacher and an attacking midfielder. Last season wasn't his best, but seeing him go to the MLS without any interest from PL clubs is baffling to me.

Rivals eye Pienaar raid QPR and Sunderland consider bids By Graeme Bailey - Tweet me: @skygraemebailey. Sky Sports has also learnt that Everton and Tottenham have failed to agree terms for the South African ace, despite lengthy talks. Negotiations between Everton and the player have also not been concluded. A source close to the deal told Sky Sports: "There are issues - I understand that the two clubs have failed to agree terms." Sky Sports now understands that Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland - who both expressed an interest in Pienaar in January before he re-joined Everton on-loan - are now considering rival bids. Everton boss David Moyes had made bringing Pienaar back to the club one of his main priorities this summer. www1.skysports.com/football/news/11711/7930460/Rivals-eye-Pienaar-raid

With us linked to the likes of Piernarr bellamy and ki along with the expected arrival of hoilett im starting to worry we wont get a centreback. I hope im way off the mark but still hearing all these names and with the club only expecting 2 or 3 more in. It does make me start to thinking prehaps hughes might be happy with what we have at the back im not so sure though

To be honest, I imagine the Pienaar and Bellamy talk is way off the mark. We were linked with Pienaar in the January transfer window, and it makes for great copy. Ki, I reckon we will make a bid for as he fits the commercial side of the club, if not the playing side, and Bellamy is a mountain out of a molehill. Why would he move from Liverpool where he is a bit-part player, to join QPR where he might be a bit-part player?
I doubt Hughes is happy with what with have, and unfortunately the preseason wasn't a great time to judge that with only the last team being close to threatening. However, it is pretty much the last back-four (with the exception of Fabio) that we had at the end of last season, and I seem to remember losing 50% of our games.

With Ferdinand/Hill/Onuoha/Taiwo, we still had 3 clean-sheet at home at the end of the season, which was remarkable considering our form.
Of course I'd like us to buy a defender, but Hughes seemed to be able to get the best out of our defenders last year, that's why I'm not as alarmed as you.

I'm wondering whether Hughes actually likes what he's seen of Max Ehmer?
He looks likely to be one of the kids most ready to step up to the plate now. Maybe he feels that Hill/Nelsen can fill in and that maybe groom Ehmer for next season. I know he was getting glowing reports last season.

And Rangers boss Mark Hughes wants to be at the front of the queue if Liverpool decide to let Sterling leave on a season-long loan. Liverpool are thought to be aware of QPR's interest. The England Under 17 star left west London for Merseyside in 2010 after spending seven years at Rangers. Since his arrival at Anfield, he has made three first-team appearances. For me, that summed up the problem at #QPR regarding their lack of youth development, which the new ownership have made a priority. Expand

As I understand it, Sterling was desperate to stay at #QPR - almost in tears - but didn't feel he could develop as a player with the club. Expand

Interesting story about Raheem Sterling coming back to #QPR. I actually spoke to Rangers' youth boss Steve Gallen about him a few months ago

SKY Cook at ease over his future Midfielder is in no rush to commit himself to a club for next season By Chris Galea. Last Updated: July 25, 2012 Lee Cook is playing a waiting game as he hopes to land himself a lucrative contract with a Championship team this season. The 29-year-old is a free agent after his contract at Premier League side QPR ran out this summer and he was released by the west London club he supported as a boy. The winger was loaned out to a number of League One clubs last season including Charlton where he helped them secure promotion and would consider another spell in the third tier. Cook revealed he has had a number of offers from other League One sides already, but says he is going to take his time to weigh up his options before committing. "I have had offers from League One clubs," said Cook. "But I am just waiting for a Championship club to show some interest and make a move. "At the moment that has not happened and I am surprised by that, but I have spoken to a number of other players who are in the same boat. "I felt that going out on loan last season and being able to get those games under my belt I might have had an offer from somewhere. "However if that does not happen then I will look to League One and focus on staying there for just a single season before earning the right to play in the Championship again. www1.skysports.com/football/news/11095/7932697/

Don't believe most of that article. ĆĀ£8m in a tribunal?? Not a chance, considering how much Sturridge went to Chelsea for.
Tony said himself last week that Mackie isn't for sale so why would we offer it.
Seems like they're rehashing stories and combining them into one

Can't believe we offered Ā£4m either. We should tell Kean he can have a million, Hulse and a free ticket to our first home game of the season against Swansea.

Not sure it will be as much as Chelsea had to pay for Sturridge but you never can tell.
Considering what Sunderland ripped off Liverpool for for Henderson though Ā£6m would be a bargain.
