I think Holiett Jnr and Snr are playing a clever game. My thinking is that they've wanted the BMG signing all along (brother already out there and BMG are likely to be playing CL football) and so are using us to get a better deal. Were we linked to Hoilett prior to the news coming out that Park was signing/had signed for us? Not that I recall and no evidence looking through this thread. As soon as we show we mean business in the transfer window we are linked to a player who has been pushing for a move elsewhere. It now looks like being linked to "big spending" QPR has forced BMG's hand and they are now going to offer what he wanted all along. Can't believe it is too difficult (if you know the right people) to get it out there how much QPR have "offered" and how much any deal would cost thus forcing a team who've lost their best player (Reus) and have any excellent chance to play CL football this season to dig a little deeper for a player with excellent potential. The thing with this whole thing that stinks to me is how BMG are actually affording this. I know they've just got £16m from selling Reus but most of that is going toward Luuk De Jong in transfer fee and wages that will make him the highest paid player there. I can't see them being able to offer him anywhere near what we can, at least 20k a week less. he is not going for the money rory he is going for the glory. and i said it stinks from day 1 i wouldnt want him anyway now as i called it ( toilet)

He's one of the top talents in the Prem. arguably better than Tarbs

If Hoilett signs... I'd be.... I don't know how to describe it...
Holly sh*t, that would be a statement of intent. He's one of the Prem's greatest prospects. I wouldn't believe my eyes if we signed him up!

Hughes said the Bellamy talk is pure speculation today so I doubt he is really a target. Ki flew in with the South Korean Olympic team yesterday so he could very well have been in W12

QPR are set to win the battle for Blackburn Rovers winger Junior Hoilett, the Chronicle understands. Rangers, Newcastle United and Sunderland are all interested in the 22-year-old, who is out of contract at Ewood Park. Hoilett was due to hold discussions with German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach over the weekend as he weighs up his options. However, it is understood the Canadian as opted to join the Hoops instead. Rangers will have to pay Blackburn compensation for Hoilett, who came through the youth set-up at Rovers, as he is under 24. You have to look at this way. He had a very, very difficult decision to make. He could sign for a club that will take part in next season's Champions League in front of a packed 52,000 seater stadium in a country his brother lives in or he could sign for us; even though we have a much smaller stadium, worse facilities (for now) and only just stayed up we play in what most think is the best league in the world, we have huge ambitions for the future and can pay him more. Not only that but he has always wanted to play for England, something he couldn't achieve if he moved to Germany. That is an incredibly tough choice for a 22 year old to make, do you not think??

If he moved to the Bundesliga that couldn't happen

Hoilett already qualifies for his native Canada, Jamaica and US and would be eligible to represent the Three Lions under FIFA’s residency rules if he remains here for another three years.

He can play for Germany in three years time instead then. Tough, if he doesn't qualify, he shouldn't play for us anyway.

i think we know Hughes 3 players he wants are Hoilett,Ki and Samba , if we took anyone else , probably 31/8 if a decent player was there , like defoe.
