Danny Simpson again www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/fulham-qpr-track-mag-simpson-1-4630066Fulham, QPR track Mag Simpson Published on Saturday 9 June 2012 11:30 Newcastle full-back Danny Simpson is being tracked by London clubs Fulham and Queens Park Rangers, writes Ross Gregory. The one-time Sunderland loan signingâs Tyneside future remains in doubt after talks over a new contract stalled. Simpson has just a year left on his present deal, and has been urged by boss Alan Pardew to put pen to paper on an improved offer. But with the 25-year-old unhappy with the terms of the proposed deal, he could be on the brink of ending his three-year stay at Newcastle. It is understood that Simpson would be keen on a move to London if he leaves Newcastle, with Fulham and QPR both showing an interest in the player, while newly-appointed Norwich City manager Chris Hughton â who signed him at Newcastle â is also keeping tabs on the right-back, who is on holiday in the United States. A source close to Simpson said: âDanny will see where the land lies when he returns from holiday. âIf he does leave Newcastle then London would be a real attraction for him.â If Simpson canât resolve his contractual situation this summer, Newcastle will look to cash in on him rather than running the risk of letting him leave on a free transfer in a yearâs time. Mathieu Debuchy tops Newcastleâs list of potential replacements, but the Lille star will not make a decision on his future until Franceâs involvement in Euro 2012 is over. Another target in Crystal Palace youngster Nathaniel Clyne. Meanwhile, Turks Galatasaray have emerged as the latest club to be interested in signing Newcastle striker Demba Ba. Ba has a release clause in his contract which can be activated before July 31 by any club willing to reach the reported ÂŁ7million fee.

I think if he chooses to leave and we are really interested in him then he will come to us.
According to NUFC fans Simpson really wants to work under Hughes.

It looks like having Sparky as manager really opens the door for quality signings. It's really good to have a such manager at the helm. I liked Warnock, but on the tactical approach, he was clueless. And it's always hard to sign Prem quality players when you've got a Championship manager.
Seeing all the players that followed him after he left a place really proves he is a good guy and a decent coach. I'm happy we have him

www.talksport.co.uk/magazine/features/120609/dutch-destroyer-bound-london-after-euro-2012-talksport-euro-2012-transfe-174016?Fresh from winning the Premier League title with Manchester City, Dutch midfielder Nigel De Jong is hoping to improve on Holland's runners up position at the 2010 World Cup by winning Euro 2012. Even if he manages to help his national team emulate the Netherlands' European champions of 1988, De Jong faces an uncertain future at club level, with Man City considering releasing the midfield enforcer. Should De Jong move on, there will be no shortage of takers, as talkSPORT reveals, as our Euro 2012 Transfer Spotlight focuses on the Dutchman⌠Name: Nigel De Jong Date of birth: 30 November 1984 Birthplace: Amsterdam, Netherlands Position: Defensive midfielder Club: Manchester City International appearances: 60 (to date) Honours: One Premier League title (2011/12), one FA Cup (2011), one Eredivisie (2003/04), one Dutch Cup (2006) What's the latest? Arsenal have emerged as surprise contenders for De Jong's signature, with Arsene Wenger keen to add muscle to a midfield that's been criticised at times for being lightweight. His preference is for Rennes' Yann M'Vila, but with that deal not exactly a foregone conclusion, the Arsenal boss is prepared to consider De Jong as an option after the Gunners suffered for long spells last season through the long-term absence of Jack Wilshere and, at times, Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey. De Jong reportedly turned down a contract extension in January that would have seen him earn £100,000-a-week and now has just 12 months of his current deal left to run, meaning he would be available at a potential knock-down price. Arsenal can't afford to dither, though, should they be serious about signing De Jong, because Queens Park Rangers are keen on the midfielder, too. Rs boss Mark Hughes signed De Jong for City for £18m in 2009 and wants the midfield enforcer to join his Loftus Road revolution, with Joey Barton out of favour. With the Dutchman relegated from a key role in City's 2010/11 Cup-winning season to more of a peripheral standing in the Premier League title-winning campaign, his good relationship with Hughes and the guarantee of first team football at Loftus Road would be attractive, but the club would have to dig deep to match his wage demands and convince De Jong that QPR are going places, fast. Italian giants Inter have also entered the fray, expressing an interest in the availability of the Dutchman, following earlier enquiries from Serie A champions Juventus, although both clubs may be tempted to wait until De Jong's contract expires when they would be able to offer him a far higher wage. De Jong has denied that he wants to leave the Etihad Stadium, while City are confident that he won't be able to earn more elsewhere and will put pen to paper on a contract extension this summer. Nothing will happen until Holland's Euro 2012 campaign is finished, but the clock is ticking if City don't want to lose a top player for nothing next year.

Never seen the guy play but i guess at that hieght he'd give us another option but for me i'd rather a proven premier league striker but you pay over the odds for a defoe type player

Cottagers Campbell Link Queens Park Rangers, 15:46, June 9, 2012 QPR are said to be ready to let striker DJ Campbell move on this summer after reported interest from Fulham, Wolves and Peterborough. Campbell only played 11 games last season in an injury ravaged campaign which saw him suffering metatarsal injuries after joining the club for around ÂŁ1.2million under Neil Warnock. He managed only one goal - a disappointing return despite his limited appearances given that he managed 13 in Blackpool's ill-fated relegation campaign the season before. However, Cottagers boss Martin Jol said to be ready to give him a new start at Craven Cottage and has the financial clout to keep him out of the arms of the two Championship clubs. It's thought Mark Hughes would want around ÂŁ750,000 for a striker whose goal return has hovered around one in every two and a half games over the past three years. www.clubcall.com/queens-park-rangers/cottagers-campbell-link-1436684.html?

London rivals Queenâs Park Rangers and West Ham United are set to bid for Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama. The 20-year-old Kenyan international has stunned the Scottish Premier League champions by telling them that he wants to test himself in Englandâs top-flight after a successful first season at Parkhead. But Celtic will slap a ÂŁ7million fee on Wanyama, a bargain ÂŁ900,000 buy from Belgian outfit Beerschot AC last summer, as he still has three years to run on his contract. Now QPRâs Mark Hughes and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce will go to head-to-head to try and lure him to the Capital. Wanyamaâs preferred position is central midfield anchor man but he also starred in defence when Celtic boss Neil Lennon used him as a centre back. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/queens-park-rangers-and-west-ham-869670

Just watched a Youtube vid of him, he looks to be a right nutter who is also very good. I can imagine having him and Diakite in midfield would definitely be lively.

Going Green: West Brom in the hunt for keeper Now the Hawthorns outfit join a long list of clubs courting West Ham's out of contract stopper Steve Clarke wants West Brom to join the cluster of clubs chasing England Âgoalkeeper Robert Green. New boss Clarke starts work at The Hawthorns Âtomorrow knowing he has to sort out a Âreplacement for Ben Foster, after his loan spell from Birmingham. Albion fear they canât Âafford the ÂŁ5m fee that their Championship neighbours will be seeking and wonât be able to match the wages Foster will be offered by Queenâs Park Rangers. So Green, available on a free transfer from West Ham, is the answer. Newly-promoted Southampton are also keen on the 32-year-old, but Clarke worked closely with him during his time as No2 to Gianfranco Zola at Upton Park. He believes he can convince Green that Albion can build on last seasonâs top 10 finish. www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/premier-league-west-brom-in-the-hunt-869908

Wanyama is quality. Looks like Hughes is wanting options and steel in the midfield especially in the absence of Barton.
Wouldn't surprise me that Wanyama has been on Hughes radar for a while. Beerschot are a bit like Southampton - production line of quality players who get snapped up by the bigger boys (I.e Bale, Walcott, Ox-Chamb). Well Beerschot produced or snapped up before others spotted the talents Dembele, Vermalen, Vertonghen, Mokoena and Wesley Sonck.
My guessing is that Hughes keeps and on is this region of the world and Wanyama would have been a target if he was with a club last summer.

Walesonline QPR make reported offer for Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm By Chris Wathan Jun 10 2012 Michel Vorm Swansea City keeper Michel Vorm QUEENS PARK RANGERS have made moves to sign Swansea City star Michel Vorm, according to reports in Holland. Backup and Secure information Vorm was on the bench for the Netherlands in their Euro 2012 opener against Denmark yesterday. And it comes after a stunning debut season for the Swans where he was voted among the best buys of the season following his ÂŁ1.5m switch from FC Utrecht last August. He has already been linked with a move to Arsenal, although that was quickly rebuffed by the 28-year-old who recorded an impressive 14 clean sheets last term. But now reports in Holland claim that Vorm has also batted away interest from Mark Hughesâ big-spending Londoners. Rangers, who avoided relegation on the final day of last season, seem likely to hand ex-Wales manager Hughes another big budget to try and establish themselves in the top flight. But Vorm is said to be unimpressed by the offer â and it is unlikely Swansea would be willing to cash in on one of the top performers. Former boss Brendan Rodgers claimed at one stage last season the nine-times capped Dutchman could be worth around ÂŁ20m in the current market. And while that figure may be unrealistic, Swansea would not be prepared to consider selling such a key member of the squad, especially after the fall-out from Rodgersâ departure for Liverpool. But there will be at least one party keen to see Vorm leave after Utrecht general manager Wilco van Schaik revealed the financially-struggling Eredivisie side have a huge 30% sell-on clause for the highly-rated stopper. Still, with Swansea boosted from the ÂŁ45m plus windfall from securing a second season in the Premier League and the ÂŁ7m compensation generated from the exit of Rodgers and three members of his backroom staff, the club have no pressing concern to sell. Hughes currently has Paddy Kenny as his No.1 but have been linked with moves for Birminghamâs Ben Foster, Celticâs Fraser Forster and out-of-contract former West Ham keeper Rob Green. Meanwhile, Swansea defender Neil Taylor has revealed he has made the 35-man Great Britain football squad for the London 2012 Olympics. The Wales defender will be joined by countrymen Gareth Bale, of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy and Swansea teammate Joe Allen. Ryan Giggs and Aaron Ramsey are also expected to feature in Stuart Pearceâs final 18-man squad. âIt will be a great thing to do, if you make the final cut,â said Taylor, 23. âItâs a great opportunity and we just have to wait for the final squad to see who he takes. âTechnically, you are going to be an Olympian and that is something a lot of athletes work towards all their lives.â The final cut will take place on July 6 with former Wales captains Giggs and Bellamy expected to join ex-England skipper David Beckham as the three players permitted over the age of 23. Team GB are in the same group A as Senegal, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay, with the final game against the South Americans to be played at Cardiffâs Millennium Stadium on August 1. âI think it will be a strong team,â said Taylor. âWe have a country full of good young players but it is the Olympics and you expect the teams to be good.â Although the Football Association of Wales opposes Welsh internationals featuring at the Olympics it has said it will not stop Welsh players from taking part. âI think Fifa have put players and coaches in a bad position in Britain,â said Taylor. âBecause the countries donât want it but the individual players want to play in the Olympics. It is a tough one.â Read More www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/swanseacityfc/swansea-city-fc/2012/06/10/qpr-make-reported-offer-for-swansea-city-goalkeeper-michel-vorm-91466-31148811/#ixzz1xNo77x1a

I don't either, Rory.
He is under contract whereas all the others we are linked with aren't. Hughes was probably asked a question about Vorm, replied with some comment suggesting that he's a good keeper and so that constitutes making an offer.
This has made us even less popular with Swansea fans now, if that was possible.

I'm not sure Barton would agree to go north of the border, even if I'd love to see him leaving. I'm still hoping West Ham will make a move for him. I'd drive him to Upton Park on my bike should they buy him.

MailSport can reveal the three English sides will fight it out to fulfil the midfielderâs dream of playing in the English Premiership. Clubs down south rate the 20-year-old Kenya international in the ÂŁ8million bracket â well short of the ÂŁ14m that will be demanded by Celtic to part with their star man. The Parkhead side do not want to lose Wanyama but stand to make a huge profit on the player they signed a year ago from Beerschot AC for just ÂŁ900,000. Neil Lennon is comfortable with selling one of his main players during this window to boost his own transfer kitty. But itâs more likely heâd prefer to move on a player such as South Korean Ki Sung-Yueng â who is valued at ÂŁ7m. Wanyama, who played for his country last night as they lost 1-0 to Namibia in a World Cup qualifier, told friends on Friday he wants to quit Celtic and move to the Premiership. That will interest new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers who has Wanyama on his list of potential summer signings. The midfield area is key to his rebuilding plans at Anfield â and thatâs why Wanyama is on his radar. QPR will try to offload Joey Barton to fund a bumper bid for the Hoops favourite. Stoke will also register an official interest as their gaffer Tony Pulis is an admirer of the powerful and combative Kenyan. Celtic are unhappy that news of Wanyamaâs desires have been made public and will do all they can to hold onto who they see as a pivotal part of future plans.

I will ask him tomorrow, but as he doesn't see the players he know every week, I'm not sure he'll know more than that, but I'll question him. The last time I talked to him, he just told me that Tremoulinas was interested in joining us and that Bordeaux would accept an offer from around 6m. I know nothing more so far. I'll tell you asa I have information.
