QPR LADIES RESERVES WIN CROWNQPR Ladies Reserves have made sure it's a season to remember after winning the Thames Valley Counties Women's Football League Plate - their first ever piece of silverware. Their success came at the hands of Oxford City Thirds, who they overcame 3-2 on spot-kicks, in a dramatic penalty shoot-out after the match ended goalless after extra-time. In a close fought contest, both sides forged chances to win the tie in normal time, only for the respective goalkeepers to come out on top. The R's went on to dominate extra-time and came agonisingly close to scoring more than once in the added 30 minutes, but the game ended in stalemate. Undeterred, the Hoops triumphed on penalties, with keeper Jess Devoti scoring and saving a penalty, and Danielle Clare Richards and Scarlett Hanrahan also netting crucial strikes. The victory also marked the first silverware in Ladies football for managerial trio Adrian West, Neil Dejyothin and Anthony Doherty. www.qpr.co.uk/page/QPRLadies/0,,10373~1634888,00.html
