QPR Away Results this season. Now obviously stats can lie. Or results don't + performance. But overall, statistically seems our home record (results) have improved under Hughes. A lot. And our away record has declined. (This with various additional players). And our first two away wins were largely with last season's team...Fair? Yes, but under Warnock it's one home win in 10+ games... Under Hughes it's 4 home wins in a row...
You'll always find stats in favor of Hughes and stats against him, but the truth is we've taken more points/ game under Hughes than under Warnock, we're more organized, and under Sir Neil, we also had horrendous away days, like the 0-6 against Fulham...

Yeah but then look at the home form. We only won 1 home game under Warnock.

Yeah ... But Hughes seems to be mystified by our away record, blah, blah, blah... And it occurred to me...Hey...!

"QPR have been dreadful away from home - they have the worst away points haul in the League picking up just 11 (and ten of those were gained whilst Warnock was in charge), and it’s hard to see that stat changing with trips to Stamford Bridge and Eastlands to come. As a compiler, this isn't a massive surprise. Mark Hughes teams have always performed well at home, but his insistence on playing for draws away from home has backfired at previous clubs and is backfiring spectacularly this season. His away record as a manager since leaving Blackburn makes very poor reading. He presided over a total of four Premier league away wins during his year and a half in charge of Man City and, despite leading Fulham into Europe, during his year there he only managed three away wins the entire season. It is clear to see watching QPR away from home that we seem to play with a fear of losing. Now is not the time for that fear to be an issue. Yeah but then look at the home form. We only won 1 home game under Warnock. And that was hanging on to a 1-0 lead against 9 men.

Thanks Jon. Hadn't seen that.
That's even more disturbing than I thought - if that's a pattern of Hughes' teams...
To win automatic promotion, we're going to need around 10 away wins...maybe more (Haven't really thought what we need to get the 85-90 points for automatic promotion)

I think you really cant make such comparisons at this stage . Hughes took over a team destined for relegation no question at all !
We know he starts at the back gets the defence right and is a slow starter . If we go by Fulham something like 17-18 pts from fis first half the season but after Christmas as he got going 30+ points and they finished 7th .
If you look at his Away Form after Christmas at Fulham he still didnt win that many games but made them hard to beat on the road and in my eye thats all you ask for .
He had wins at Stoke,Sunderland and Birmingham and Drew at Wolves ,Man C , Aston Villa and Wigan .
He lost at 1-0 at Spurs , 1-0 at Liverpool ,2-1 at Everton and 2-0 at Utd
So in 11 away games from Christmas after he got himself establised he picked up 13 points out of 33 dont think thats too bad away from home. Its more than a point a game away from home and with a good home form keeps you up .
The 3 losses were not stuffings and three of them against top teams .
He made them hard to beat on the road and thats all i ask for .
All this talk about him being no good away is far to early to judge him in my opinion .
Give him a whole season and then judge him over 19 or 23 games .

How ironic that our best recent away performances have been in Manchester with 10 men!

Mark Hughes has been a total disaster for us. Just like I predicted when he was appointed as manager. Not only does the squad need an overhaul but we also need a new manager whose ambitions match those of the owners! I was highly amused to hear Hughes' assistant claim credit for the two of them for "building the foundations" that allowed Man City to win the title. Are we really supposed to believe that City would have won the title had Hughes still been in charge there?...I think not! Yep, 5 consecutive home wins (including against Liverpool, Arsenal & Tottenham) and premiership survival with a team he took over half way through the season. Yep, disaster!
