Nice piece about a real unsung hero in that great team.
How we could do with someone like Dave Clement now.
Certain individuals in our club wouldn't be fit to tie his bootlaces.
Rangers legend!!!
RIP Dave, gone but never forgotten.
Cheers,
Jay

Thanks for the link Mac. I shed a tear whilst reading it, brought back so many memories. I grew up watching DC along with Gillard, Bowles et al. Remember the news breaking about his death, couldn't believe it.

Great piece, very moving. - Well done for putting info up. Interesting that Dave's last goal for us was on 14th April 1979 v Spurs at the Lane. We actually played the day before as well v Norwich - April 13 1979, Good Friday. I know that because it was my first Rangers game. The old man gave my brother and I the choice of going to either match, but we wanted to go to Loftus Road. That game ended 0-0. Martin Peters was playing for Norwich! Seems a long time ago now....

It was a shame no reference was made to this at the Bush on Saturday It wouldn't be mentioned, mate. They don't give a toss about our old stalwarts. Dave was very special - a brilliant full back. I didn't miss many of his games. You just knew he would be like a rock at the back and was excellent coming forward.

This is the big difference between a business run by foreign nationals who dont necessarily understand football and a football club. One makes the right noises and manipulates the accounting to leave - generally - the club carrying the can. A football club has a soul and that soul likes to remember its past and the people that contributed to it. I am not particularly having a go at TF here as so far so good (well!) but it seems to me that the only soul of the club rests with the supporters through thick through thin. If it wasnt for the efforts of Gramps and Mac et all on here I wouldnt know what was happening to our ex players and that aint right. Its like not knowing whats happening with your family.

To be fair to the club they did print a tribute to Dave in Saturday's programme, Martin Percival e mailed Ian Taylor at late notice while we produced the Dave Clement Indy Rs article and he managed to squeeze it in so fair play to him. I agree clubs should do more to honour ex players, it was good to read on here encouragement for an ex players association similar to what Brentford are now doing, I know loyal Rangers fan Roy Clark was going to speak to the club on Saturday regarding this. It was interesting on the recent Open all Rs podcast that Wayne Fereday would love to be involved at the club in a similar way to how Steve Wicks is. Its something that should be encouraged we have a great history.

As was to be expected - no answer. Not even a one line acknowledgement. They just don't care!

The photo of winning the London 5-a -side.
I believe it was this competition that made other London clubs realise that we were on the verge of something special at Rangers.
Unless my memory is wrong (again!) we won this at a canter while still in the second division & in true Rangers style we took the p*** out of all the so called superior teams.

Pieces like this reminds me how much I love my Rangers.
Anyway, most importantly; Rest in Peace, Dave Clement.
(If true),A real, real shame that the club don´t appreciate their past players like they deserve.

Lovely reading about Dave Clement we are so proud of him, we would have loved to have met him, especially David's grand children who talk about him and his football career all the time, it's very sad that they have found out what happened to their special grandad on the Internet, innocent children surfing the net. RIP lots of love It's nice to read about him on QPR message board.

His Death was a tragedy.
In all his years at QPR, I can't think of anyone who ever said a negative word about him as a player. And that's not something can say about many players
