Before the season, I was concerned we might not make top two; forced to playoffs and then lose out. But I did expect that we'd at least qualify for playoffs - while always aware, we might just miss out by a point! (And yes I had read about the four year plan!).

To be entirely honest I never expect anything but disapointment. I'm not being cynical or morose or 'on a downer' but that is simply what I am used to. Anything else is such a joy that I jump up out my seat when we score and shout my head off, celebrate wins for 2-3 days by nonstop singing QPR songs in the house, in the garden, in the car etc and generally feel proud and happy. Because those moments are so few and so far in-between they are celebrated even more! Next season I expect they will stuff it up again. Always do so why not? I don't go for 'wins' I go to support QPR (and most times they need it!). Take the rough with the smooth, the good with the bad and remember it's just football! Enjoy it and don't expect to much or we'll end up with an atmosphere like C*****a and you will be forever disapointed and forever chasing blame.

I definitely agree that the high expectancy isn't good for the atmosphere.
Whenever I see Flavio's 'four year plan' talked about, it reminds me of Steve Staunton's disastrous management of the Rep. of Ireland. Whenever we had a bad result (which was quite often) he would talk about building for the future and a four year plan. I think a four year plan is bravado and/or an effort to deflect criticism whenever there's poor results.
Also, what's supposed to happen within four years keeps changing. At the start, we going to be in the Champions League in four years. Then Europe. Now it's (just) the premiership.
I think worst of all it sends mixed messages to the players and to the coaches/manager.
Considering a year has passed since Flabio started talking about the four year plan, shouldn't it be in three years?
I think it would be better if he said something along the lines of "we're disappointed we didn't get the play offs this year but we are trying to remedy the situation and bring about success as soon as possible etc."

We've had more managers than away wins, this season

He just went about it in an undignified manner. We've had more managers than away wins, this season At that I have to laugh!! Bloody hell!! That is quite amazing and surely a first for a new board in football!

You know I like that quote so much, I'll make it a seperate thread (which reminds me of that quote re Grahame Souness " If Graeme Souness was a chocolate drop, he'd eat himself"
