Now, I really don't believe that Jamie & Bob are in any way related, but perhaps the man has waited years to gain revenge for the slurs that he feels we have given to his surname!
I blame yesterday's defeat on every one of us who has gloried in Jamie's masterful goal & elevation to player of the year etc.
I can't find any other explanation for Bob just standing like a statue staring at the player on the post, rather than moving one foot to the right so that his view of the line was clear. Even if that movement was past his physical capabliities he only had to move his head slightly to give himself a full view.

If this occurred to Man U in the match now being played v WBA, and bearing in mind their closeness in points to Man City, do you think that Fergie would have stood like a stature on the sideline, and accepted it, or would he have had the game stopped, a conference with the officials, and had the goal awarded.

Simple thing - Man Utd would have been awarded the goal - no ifs and buts about it. The Linesman would have made the decision - and it would have been "Goal".
Likewise Atkinson would have awarded the penalty towards the end of the game if it had been Utd as well.
However let's not forget our own goal - Cisse was miles offside.
This game did everything to show up the incompetence of the officials who just about messed up the game with their lack of consistency and apparant cluelessness of what was happening on the pitch. Nothing unusual as I see this level of ioncompetence week in and week out on most televised English football games.
It also highlighted the fact that while sports such as both rugby codes, cricket, hockey - abd probably even lawn bowls - has resorted to technology, the powers that be of the world's biggest sport are still debating using something that should have been decided 20 years ago.
