It's the Daily Mail I know and therefore the pich of salt is necessary. But it says we are after Heurelho Gomes.
Surely if we need a Paddy replacement we don't need another Spurs reject keeper.

It's not the 'reject' part I'm concerned of, it's his true ability, and mentality in particular, I'd be worried about - an awkward, psychologically soft keeper isn't a perfect match for relegation fighters.

It's true and has been for days..he's probably the best shot stopper in the prem, he had a disastrous start but then was incredible, but still managed to make more than average amounts of mistakes sadly.

Gomes is capable of winning you games.
He's also capable of losing them too.
But the same can be said of de Gaea and Rob Green and many other keepers too, it kind of goes with the territory.
In fairness though, Kenny hasn't exactly set the Prem alight, now, has he?
Gomes is a more commanding presence in my opinion, plus he's taller. Kenny is woefully short for a top flight stopper.
Spurs apparently looking at getting Krul and loaning him back to Toon, so I expect they're looking at getting Krul as their main man next season.
If Hughes believes Gomes is his man I'd trust his judgement on that.

I honestly don't see a keeper as our top priority, simply a nice to have perhaps but not what I see we are crying out for on the pitch. We've got three keepers, Cerny has done remarkably well given the circumstances and I have no idea what Murphy is like. Kenny is ok, as he was last season but is he (was he) better than Cerny? Maybe, as I've read somewhere, Kenny is Colin's baby so Leslie simply does'nt fancy him (as it were).
As for Gomez, not too bothered, just think we need improving elsewhere first.

Remember Gomez as the regular before 'arry arrived and for the first few games after. 'Arry gave him time to get his confidence and to stop those dreadful mistakes-then he bought Friedel. Would worry me (even more than I am already).

i think Kenny is reliable and therfe are 7 players id replace before him. its been the truly awful defending, the lack-lustre midfield and the laughable forward play that has cost us

Kenny isnt Prem standard and to be honest I was gutted when Cerny was replaced as soon as Paddy could move his dodgy hip or was that arse?.But as others have said weve got other problems to sort before GK...

Gomez, like all 'keepers makes some mistakes. He also makes some incredible saves.
I would be very happy to have him in our goal.
Although I can't say that a change in goal should be our priority.

Sounds like we're not in for Gomes after all so that's the end of that one then.

Paddy will be replaced in the summer if we stay up. He will probably go to whichever club NW takes over in the Champo
