Sky Sports - Sousa breaks Hoops silence Sacked tactician insists he acted with integrity
Paulo Sousa has broken his silence on his Queens Park Rangers sacking and asked for his integrity and honesty not be questioned.
The Portuguese tactician was dismissed on Thursday for what the Championship club described as the divulging of 'highly confidential and sensitive information' with regards Dexter Blackstock's loan move to Nottingham Forest.
Sousa claimed that the deal had been done without his knowledge or consent; an assessment that was dealt with swiftly by the club's board and led to his exit.
Blackstock's agent has since claimed that Sousa was aware of the situation with regards his client's move away from Loftus Road.
Sousa, who has previously remained silent on his departure, has thanked joint-owner Flavio Briatore for giving him his first chance in English football, while at the same time refuting suggestions he has in some way acted unprofessionally.
"I believe that Mr Briatore, like me, has always had the club's best interests at heart and I would like to thank him for giving me my first opportunity to manage in England," said Sousa.
"I hope that my integrity and honesty are not brought into question as I have always sought to act with both throughout my career."

Amazing that, after all that he was subjected to last week, he can still find the time to thank Flavio Briatore.
Makes it even harder to bear that he was given the push - but there you are!
And when he succeeds as a manager, this whole sorry mess will come back to haunt us, not him!

I doubt the club will ever retract what it said, though it can offer a more fuller explanation in the future and how that's slanted will depend on how the lawyers get on over the next few days.

Aside from the main protagonists, Pete must be desperately hoping it doesn't come to a court case (or that Sousa doesn't turn his attention to WATRB after he's come to an arrangement with QPR - And there's no reason I can think of why QPR should care what happens to WATRB)

(Sorry Scott I still can't get past that 'Memories of Tottenham' thread that turned to hell. Maybe in time, but not for a long time. Should never have been allowed to get past more than two posts of racism let alone pages of it.)

I didn't want to have a dig at your site, as you are a mod now, without explaining my-self and therefore come off sounding rude or antagonistic which is not my intention at all.

sandy we will never know the full truth, non of it makes sense to me Agreed, Weavie. We can only all move on. And, I think, really raise the roof tomorrow with positive cheering for the team - to show the Board/Briatore that we can rise above this and that we are 100% behind the team. That's how I feel, anyway!

SANDY I dont know flavio but the millionaires i know dont like to be parted with there money so its quite dificult for me to beleive that flavio told sousa to drop dexter after he scored five goals in his first eight games but the truth will come out
but we as a club must not have a row with flavio and co we must just enjoy next season when we smash all that comes up against us at loftus road
then well off load then install bill power as chairman and enjoy the love club

Actually disagree about the "moving on" Why? Holding a grudge doesn't do anyone any good! And shouldn't we be concentrating on supporting the team on the pitch for the rest of this season? Just my thoughts tho!

Not a grudge...Not vengeance...But justice!
Because when you "move on" those who caused the problems win. They've accomplished their aim. And they think they can just continue with no 'penalty' - and so will just continue. Has to be a cost for such actions to prevent similar future actions.

Ok, I hear you.
But what if things do seriousy pick up in the close season - which is feasible?
Then wont we be better off than right now - which is what we all want, a serious chance to make an impact on this league next season.
In which case, we all "win" - not just those who caused the problems in the first place!

If everything were to change, I wouldnt be too obsessed what happened in the past. As with Paladini, once he was no longer Chairman and no longer had power (I thought!), then I didn't really care vis a vis he continuing at QPR as Sporting Director. I may have changed my views!
