It's a circle ... Mail - QPR weigh up Wise moveBy Sportsmail Reporter Dennis Wise has emerged as a surprise candidate for the Queens Park Rangers manager's job following the sacking of Paulo Sousa. The ex-Millwall boss left his £1.5million-a-year role as a football director at Newcastle following the appointment of Alan Shearer and is believed to be on the Rangers shortlist being drawn up by co-owner Flavio Briatore and chairman Gianni Paladini. Other names linked with the job include Paul Ince and Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1169316/QPR-weigh-Wise-move.html

Besides what we feel about him. He was earning more than a million a year at Newcastle. Would he accept any less at QPR?

OK to be serious - Any qualities to him as manager Remember BP and GP were trying to bring him to QPR as player just after our promotion (Or is that like the famed humourous quote "Apart from that Mr. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

Our choices, if we have such a thing, will be extremely limited.
If it's a straight choice between Ince and Wise, |'ll take Wise, faults/warts an' all.

Perhaps Flavio might like to replace Paladini with Wise considering until recently they both held the same type of job at their respective clubs??

The one saving grace of Paladini: He's only earning around 200,000 pounds (+ interest free loan). Wise was earning a million pounds at Newcastle.
My question: If we appointed a manager and paid him a milion pounds a year, is it fair/reasonable to exepect our Sporting Director to earn any less than that? ;D

im just guessing but i dont think flav would replace gianni because gianni is italian and kind of understands flavios thoughts also dennis wise is far to powerfull for flav he wont tollerate him making silly sugestions dennis is his own man and uncle ernie is the main man

Even If I were to accept your premise re Italians, there are a lot highly competent football people out there, from Italy, Flavio could turn to!

Even If I were to accept your premise re Italians, there are a lot highly competent football people out there, from Italy, Flavio could turn to! A highly competent person would have his own views and ideas. He would not fit in with Flabio's way of doing things! Pallidini is a perfect poodle for him, plus he came pre-trained!

Logically, Briatore wants promotion. Assuming that's true, not sure he's adopting the best approach! Nor sure why he would act differently re QPR as opposed to in his other business interests.
And not less important: He's a minority investors. Would think those who invested their money, would the best chance of making a profit, etc. So why they let him...

ive always stuck up for palladini because i see a lot of vulerabillity in him hes got a heart of gold and he is a bit of a charactor but he could esasily get blown out by flav because ...flavio cant control himself he is a full on hurricane of power there must be times he lays in bed on his own and regrets all the peopl;e he sacks but he cant controll himself but strangely he is my target to spin doctor over the next twelve months i shall endevour to find good in him but its going to be a hard slog

Seriously out of Wise or Ince, I would pick Wise. Only because working under Flabio looks like an absolute nightmare and after the way Sousa was treated I would only wish the job on my enemies. I'm sure Briatore does want promotion, though the priority is to make the club self-sufficient first. The bottom line is more important than the top three at the moment, our equity has almost run out and the fans are beginning to stay away. Not the most appealing job! I seriously doubt we will get anyone other than a mercenary and probably a relatively unknown that comes cheap. I'm far more concerned that the players will start to leave in droves unless this is sorted as soon as possible.

The counter argument: We need to be in the Premiership, to bring in the money, to stop the losses.
Ince Wise Ferguson
All only had 2-3 seasons at most of managing. Ince, I guess. Then Wise. And last Ferguson.

ITS BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT THE PREM THAT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT NONSENSE ABOUT FLAVIO PUTTING DEXTERS CONTRACT ON HOLD the trolls from the dot org that perpertrated the WATRBS SITE started that nonsense can you imagine how much money it could be worth for qpr to get promoted why would flav tell sousa to drop dexter after he had just scored five goals in sousas first eight games the same troll that said that flav had paid twelve million on the boxes also sent that rumour and your average qpr fan will beleive anything but i certainly dont beleive that flavio spent any more than two million on those boxes because the whole of loftus road is only worth 25 mililion its just lunacy to suggest such things pure hatred and lunacy

The counter argument: We need to be in the Premiership, to bring in the money, to stop the losses. That's the generally accepted view, yes. However I do not feel that Flabio holds generally accepted views that the rest of us share. He is treating us as a commercial enterprise and not a football club. If he were to realise that only succesful teams in the premiership are turning a profit then I imagine he would put in the investment neccesary, however in order for him to do that I imagine that he would want to firm up the foundations first. Immediately he throws just enough money to make a slight improvement to the squad and then set's about dismantling the company behind the scenes in a effort to start again with a much smaller losses sheet. Once the business shows it's-self to be in a healthy position then larger investments will be made as now they are more likely to succeed due to the firm foundation it's based on. In short the next manager is really not that important, Flabio runs the team, we just have to wait for him to get up to speed. Whoever it is will have to be a yes man, don't see that in Ince, Ferguson or any-one else really, except Wise.
